So recently I picked up the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, and you all should too. Because these games are WONDERFUL. ICO's gameplay is honestly kinda shit, but that's okay, because it's not about the gameplay. It's about the journey, the experience. This is a work of art that really can only work as a video game, and my god does it work well. Such a minimalist plot, and yet the ending is so powerful.
Shadow of the Colossus I just started today, and all I can say is HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS GAME, MAN, THIS FUCKING GAME. You play as Wander, and wander (c wut i did there?) around a beautiful nowhere land on your horse until you find these massive creatures that you have to kill. And the soundtrack is... OH GOD THE SOUNDTRACK... ear sex doesn't even begin to describe it. Epic, atmospheric, triumphant, somber, threatening, all at once. Truly a thing of beauty.
