I've heard this idea recently that a main trope page that has subpages based on medium should not have page image, to keep it "medium agnostic". Is this a rule or a rule of thumb? Previously, with a page image on the main page a medium can have two images, with the superior one serving the trope as a whole.

Also, I can see how this helps a medium from being overpromoted, but doesn't that beat the purpose of having a page image in the first place? This way images are not there to complement the description.
