Uh, I'm not sure how that demonstrates the trope, which is defined as "An American remake of a show from a foreign country". Stuff like dubs don't count.
Reaction Image RepositoryTo my understanding, the trope is "a foreign (usually American) remake or translation of a work tries to remove/whitewash all cultural connections to the original work's country of origin." The screenshot shows a bit of obviously-Japanese culture being painted over with something American (and hilariously poorly). It's a parody of the trope (or at least poor execution of it), but I think it illustrates the trope quite well.

Yeah, it works—although I admit I was a bit confused when you mentioned "Futurama", since I thought to myself in Futurama's future it could very well be in Omaha.
The trope is in TRS right now. If might be best to wait and see what decision TRS comes to.
I think the TRS thread for it is pretty much dead at this point - it's been a year since the thread started with no final decision, and the only post in nearly two months was a mod locking the crowner. If nobody objects for a couple more days, I'll add it. We could always change it later if people complain, anyways.
Edit 2011/01/20: Added it.

Extra 1: Poochy Ain't StupidWay overude for a lock.
I propose we add this screenshot from the Futurama episode "Reincarnation", where the final segment was a pastiche of badly-translated anime and frequently parodied this trope.
