Boy, that won't be fun for them. Might want to trade one of them after this.
Wake me up at your own risk.I usually like Kerr, but his reaction to this has been appalling. "In 32 years, I’ve probably seen 20-plus fist fights. It should not make it out of our walls. We need to be better."
After the heartfelt reaction he had to the school shooting, to see the cognitive dissonance here between the actual issue - a player resorting to physical violence - and what he perceives as an issue - the fact player violence became public - is very disappointing.
For what it's worth Draymond always has looked like a crappy human being who's opening his mouth way more than he should. He is a talented baller, but being part of one of the most historically stacked squads in the NBA has led to an overestimation of his actual abilities, and a complete overestimation of his right to shittalk other players.
NBA SEASON IS BACK, BAYBEEEEEEEEEE!!!
The sad, REAL American dichotomyAnd just like everybody predicted, title contenders such as the Jazz (2-0) and Spurs (2-1) are high in the standings, while obvious tankers like the Sixers (0-3) and Lakers (0-2) are bottom.
It's probably a good thing I wasn't able to watch that Bulls/Cavs game since I don't currently live there. That result is embarrasing.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyCleveland is going to be tough to deal with all season long. Probably not title contenders, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, which would be a first in a long time without LBJ (and maybe a first period?).
I only see Boston and Milwaukee clearly above them. Philadelphia...well, maybe they'll click at some point but right now they don't look like they could contend.
The Cavs made the ECF in '76 and '92.
So, another fight broke out, huh?
Wake me up at your own risk.Do you mean the one in Detroit from a day or two ago, or was there another one?
Also, as a Detroit fan, it really sucks that we've had at least two notable brawls... and all these notable brawls are decades apart, featuring none of the same people, but are just a recurring theme, whether or not they're Detroit's fault.
The sad, REAL American dichotomySo, Lebron James did it. He broke Kareem's record and is the new top scorer in NBA history.
Wake me up at your own risk.Tbh I'm surprised that they did a presentation immediately after the record sealing shot instead or waiting the 11 seconds for the quarter to end.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyTIL Dennis Rodman earned more for a couple of nights work in WCW than he did for a full season's work in the NBA.
Hell, 1999 was the year after his fifth NBA championship, and yet he was paid more by WCW than he was paid by the Lakers. Granted, the '99 season was shortened by a lockout to 60% of its usual length.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI just gave the NBA page a pretty extensive edit and some rewrites. I think next we'll need to give the WNBA its own separate page distinct from the general "basketball" page.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWarriors/Lakers series is going to be crazy.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyNot only was the Warriors-Kings series the first all-Nor Cal series ever, it was: a) the first series between those two teams, period, even though they've both existed since the '40s, and: b) the first time they've made the playoffs in the same year since '75, when the Kings were the Kansas City-Omaha Kings.

It's also the first time all four California teams have made he playoffs.
And Steph set a record for the most points scored in a game 7. Looney also matched a record for the most 20+ rebound games in a series. And Klay... was there.
Was that a "let's go Lakers" chant at the end? That's the first time I've seen a team cheer for their opponent's next opponent.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyKlay fell off quick...
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell, Steph getting a comeback from 1-3 against Bron would be the most orgasmic thing ever for the NBA I would say. That would put their rivalry on par with Bird/Magic.
I'm still hoping for a Denver-Miami Finals, even though I'm not even sure Denver will make it to the Conference Finals.

I think some more media figures should be added to the National Basketball Association page. Off the top of my head Stuart Scott and Craig Sager, but does anyone else come to mind? I also don't quite know what to say about them.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyAnd Denver goes to the West finals.
Wake me up at your own risk.Lakers are 0-2. Celtics are 0-2. I think we should check on Adam Silver, he might be near comatose at the moment just thinking about how his dream final is slipping away for a Small Market vs Dawg Mentality one.
(I'm enjoying it a lot, I would love to see Joker vs Jimmy, whoever wins would be wholly deserving of the title)
Weird how the NBA's never had a 3-0 comeback but MLB has, considering the NBA has 15 best-of-7 series a year to MLB's three.
