Nice episode I liked the whole singing while saving her friends part.

Looks like Muginami's finally gonna have more than two seconds of screentime next episode! I so excited already.
Also, does anyone know what Yellow's name is?
Massive spike in the Les Yay here, what with all the blushing and the Intertwined Fingers
I was expecting the legend to be a more personal problem for the pilot, the way the characters were treating it. This is more interesting, though
The director specifically said that romance has been removed from the show. So no yuri, unfortunately.
But that implies they actually started with romance in the plot. LOL
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Did they specify which kind of romance? Because I can't help but notice that our girls currently have a trio of anti-villainous prettyboys opposing them, which may or may not have once been significant.
In other words, was this show originally planned as yuri?
What's precedent ever done for us?I theorized the alien dudes were potential love interests as well, if only because there really didn't seem to be any Les Yay going on at first. Then again I'm writing a thing where the protagonist only has subtext with this one guy until the fifth chapter where it switches to another girl and goes from there (and it would only have made sense that way), so...who knows?
Creators lie all the time though, we have a trope for it. I still see the alien guys as more likely candidates, but yeah.
Why do you fight? Why do you exist?Great, a strong improvement if ever there was one.
Fight smart, not fair.^Sarcasm?
This is Deboss. His opinions are not our puny Earth opinions.
What's precedent ever done for us?I'm not sure the purpose of that comment. Romantic subplots have long been the bane of action oriented works.
Fight smart, not fair.
That really depends on the work.
True I guess. Genesis Of Aquarion or any number of other shows wouldn't be themselves without all of the akwardness humor.
Fight smart, not fair.@Iaculus: Yes, it was specified that two characters whose first meeting was also in the first few scenes of the first episode, and has been usually together since, would have initially been "more than friends" eventually; but that was scrapped as an experiment on "romance-free story-telling."

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Awesome, let's hope the experiment pulls through. Trying to reduce a plot to have bland token elements is not a good thing.
Fight smart, not fair. You kidding? No Hugging, No Kissing is nothing new. Just look at One Piece.
What's precedent ever done for us?Negima would beg to differ.
Assuming no major changes to the script or misreporting/translating, that can only really be Madoka and Lan, which means they're doing a really shitty job at the experiment, given all the Les Yay those two have
I REALLY like the way aliens think in this anime. I REALLY LIKE THIS.
I think we can firmly place them in Type IV MAYBE Type III Anti-Villain
Please don't use Type [X] when describing sliding scale tropes. The name should make sense on its own, not require clicking through.

To be honest, that's kind of a shame. There's way the hell less yuri mecha anime than there are No Hugging, No Kissing ones, and the only one I can think of off the top of my head (Kannazuki No Miko) is pretty... well... crap.
What's precedent ever done for us?The director promised no romance... in season one. What about season two? *runs*
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuNah I don't think the second season would be any different in that front.
And since he's also the director of Mouretsu Pirates, no romance there too (as he himself also said). She really just loves the parfait (you'll obviously know who I'm talking about if you watch that show as well). LOL
EDIT: He's the director of Mouretsu Pirates, but the "series production director" for this show. WTF is the difference then? LOL

I liked how Makoda was visibly caring about the collateral damage the fight caused.
And it wasn't even angsting about it either, or handwaving it.
It was 'oh damn, I just smashed a restaurant- well, thank god it went out of business so there was nobody inside.'
