Who Wants to Live Forever: Phase 2, Discussion Thread

@Daltar: It's good to know you're still with us, but it'd be nice if you actually posted something; just sayin'...

A couple of items of note:

1.Spiralag has been put on 'MIA'. He hasn't posted in a week, and I've PM'ed him three times; once five days ago, and the second time three days ago. I made the third PM today, esentially telling him that until he comes back, and with the Grand Finale for the first act of the RP coming up, I'll be taking control of his character. And that brings us into the next notice...

2.As I said, the Grand Finale for the first act of the RP is coming up, perhaps even starting today. So, is everyone ready? (I'm also asking because I've already lost 2 players, maybe a third, and want to make sure that everyone else is still here...)

Well... sorry to hear that. But, it's good to see you back. Your character will be returned to you, of course. If you don't feel like reading the oh-so-many posts that have occurred in your absence, feel free to ask for a plot summary.

Okay... it's nice that you're all still here... but it's also be nice if you posted. (In the RP thread.) Just sayin...

Okay... I know that some of you may think of my constant checking in as possibly annoying... but, if we can just all get together and focus this one weekend, we can finish the first act this weekend, and then this will give me the chance to open sign-ups again, and get some new blood in here. Sound good?

You know something? I quit. The pestering is BEYOND annoying.

Oh... sorry. It's just... there hadn't been any posts for one or two days. And, I also like to make sure my posters haven't left the RP. Look, I'm sorry if it upset you, I really am. And I don't know if anything can make up for that; again, the first part of the RP was nearly done, I've lost two players before, another hardly posts, and, well, I was just making sure everyone was still here.

Does anyone else think I'm 'pestering'? Please, don't hold back; give me your honest opinion.

It does come rather often but I'm not annoyed at it. I certainly understand your worries kkhohoho.

That's good to hear; thanks. If anyone else has anything they want to add though, feel free.

But, in any case... part 1 of the RP is done! ...And that also means the RP is temporally on hiatus, for a few reasons. One is that, as I said before, I'm going to use this a chance to bring in new players, get some new blood in here. And as for the other reason...

If you read the most recent post in the RP thread, you will know that the world is practically doomed. Within the following decades, (maybe centuries, honestly not sure,) Gray will not only take over the world, but set back it's technology and cultural state by who knows long. In any case, this isnt the modern world we all know, so I need some time to brainstorm what the 'new world' is going to be like. Not too long though. And when the RP starts back up again, (should hopefully be in two-three weeks at the most,) I'll let you all know. In the meantime, feel to still post in the Discussion or Sign-up threads if you feel the need.

And finally, I also want to use this time for one more reason; I want feedback. Honest feedback on the whole RP. I'm not demanding it persay, but if you feel like doing so, then by all means, say what you thought about the RP; what you liked, what you didn't like, what you felt I could improve on, etc.

Hmmm lets see... as for feedback... There were times when I could definitely feel that you were pushing things along, though this was fairly late in the RP and important in getting the events of the last part carried through.

As for the pestering, it didn't bother me and I feel it was warranted with me at time.

Sorry I didn't post at the very end, I was pretty busy and some R Ps were put on the wayside. But still, great to see we've finished Part 1

Now, as for feedback...

Like daltar said, sometimes it felt like we were getting rail-roaded a little too much. It's understandable since this is an RP with a lot of plot (and I should say it's a plot I enjoyed very much), but for the next arc you might consider giving PC's a little more leniency- nothing huge, just let their actions influence the story more, or allow them to interact for a while before making them move onto the next plot point.

I'd also suggest cutting down on the amount of NPC's. It's good for you to have some characters of your own to use and they are interesting in their own right, but even not taking into account the PC-turned-NP Cs, there were still about seven important NP Cs to about half a dozen players by the end.

Also, as much as I like reading, walls of text every other post can get a little tiring. Maybe think about finding a more condensed way of relying information, or just cut down on the amount of exposition given? Again, not having as much established characters to control could help with this.

So, tl;dr, try and make it less like a story and more like a roleplay

I feel like I've been a little too critical and a bit mean, but I really think this is fun and I enjoy it, and it is impressive for your first RP. Just trying to be helpful.

Right; the first post of the Sign-up Thread has been updated with new info for Phase 2 of the RP. Check it for info!

Also, does someone know how I can contact a moderator? I want to see if I can get the names of the threads changed.

Got a question for you all. I asked this a while back, but what do you think about getting rid of all the old threads, and creating new ones instead? When I originally asked, the general opinion seemed to be that since I already had threads created, I should just use them. But, what I really want to do with 'Phase 2' is get new players into the game, and I think they may be put off by all of these threads and pages, in any of the threads. I think they might be more liable to sign-up if the threads were completely new.

I'll decide for myself at some point, but I'm interested in hearing what anyone else has to say about it.
