The Nat Geo Wild show called Catwars: Lion vs Cheetah pulled something ridiculous. The subject invovles lions killing cheetahs and some question as to why. One would normally think they compete for prey (as a matter of fact, they do) The program however, stated that Lions and Cheetahs do not compete for prey because lions eat big game like buffalo, zebra and wildebeeste. However, within the first 10 minutes of the program, they have footage of A CHEETAH KILLING A WILDEBEESTE. I'm really not sure which trope this falls under, failing biology? or perhaps didn't do the research. This was just sloppy.

Critical Research Failure for the trope. Possibly a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing with the script writer looking around for something to make a counterpoint to "Maybe they compete for pray" and latching onto something, while another researcher looking for video finds great footage of a cheetah killing its prey but has no knowledge that this contradicts something scrounged up by another part of the production team.

In other news, NatGeo wild is in line to host Stephen Colbert's South Carolina Serious Class Republican Debate

I really hope that link works, or this will just be really awkward for all of us.
