[up]Contrary to popular belief, it seems Laurec is more of an Indiana Jones ripoff than Layton. There are elements that do seem ripped stright out of Layton, but then there are those Mon Battles...

I'm playing it, too. :3 I'm actually pretty bothered that few people are giving it a chance because a guy who wears a top hat and solves puzzles is the main character. It really IS more Indiana Jones than Layton.

So... Doctor Lautrec and the Lost Lawsuit then?

Depends on who's losing the lawsuit. I can't tell if that was pro-Lautrec or not. D:"

Doesn't make much difference to me; I've never even heard of "Doctor Lautrec". :P

The only Lautrec I can think of is the gold-armored assassin from Dark Souls.

Hmm, perhaps I´ll try it out someday. Can´t comment any further on it though.

So is nobody going to take the second post's advice and add some kind of context?

I've never heard of this game. What platform is it on?

It's not such a Layton ripoff, instead being an adventure game developed by Konami for the 3DS.

Okay, this is a really weird game ._. I mean its obviously Layton inspired down right to the name and general appearance of some things, but at same time its completely different in presentation. I'm too early in it to say for sure, but it might also fall in "try to do too many things in order to distinguish it from its inspiration" thing whats with mon game lite mechanic... Can't say yet.
