Another JoJo pic (too text heavy): Arbitrary Skepticism

Ignoring the annoying fact that someone is pimping out Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure anywhere it might fit, the current one doesn't make much sense. Even knowing the trope, I'm not really sure what's going on in this one.

Eh, I'll go Keep Until Better Image Suggested on this one. It is uncomfortably text heavy, but I think it's fairly clear. Hardly ideal, but not bad enough to pull without a replacement.

^That would need heavy editing to work at 350.

I'm not saying I don't like it, but it would.

We could just make the text the caption.

I ship it.

As I've noted in the past, it's very annoying for people who aren't familiar with manga to realize that the text reads from right-to-left. It took me a while to parse what they were saying. So that alone is reason for me to support the pull.

It might make a decent quote, though.

[up]Not unless we go to the trouble of editing out the speech bubble. It would look kinda sloppy to leave it on there. Other than that I like the suggestion a lot more than what's up there now.

Visuals add nothing. Yank the sucker.

If we flip the current pic it could work. I'd like to see more suggestions though.

EDIT: On second thought it would probably work better as a quote since the dialog carries everything in that pic.

[up][up] No, the visuals do not "add nothing." They add, at a minimum, context, characters speaking, backgrounds, art style that gives visual cues as to the origin and nature of the work in question, etc. I know I probably sound like a broken record on this, but it's only because people insist on perpetuating an unattainable non-standard standard for images that include text.

Now, that being said, I don't think the current image is an especially good one. It's a bit confusing, in part because of the manga right-to-left convention, which becomes even more confusing because some manga (or manga-esque) works have translations that are read left-to-right. It's also a bit busy and takes a while to get to the point.

[up]About the only part of the visuals that adds anything is panel two's amused face. It'd lose next to nothing if we used it as a quote, which is the standard I'm using.

That's a good point actually

EDIT: I went ahead and replaced the image with a flipped version, so even if it isn't the best, at least it's coherent.

That's fine, but just note that this is not a generally-accepted community standard, especially for something like pulling an image.

I'm not, but it could probably be a little more legible - could it be bumped up to 350 pixels?

Here's a 350 pixel version. I also did a little clean-up work on the text, to try to make it clearer. Hopefully it hasn't made it look too artificial.
