I would take this to trope repair, but do we really need that for something as obvious as a work on a page that's a fan name, not the official name? The work's official name (at least after a re-release) is MOTHER 1, while Earth Bound Zero is a fan nickname. It even admits it as the end of the description.

Normally, I would have just moved the page itself, but there are so many other pages under this name, that I need help.

Well, MOTHER 1 is a redirect on the page...

Also, why is "MOTHER" in caps?

[up]1. That does not change the fact that the main name is the wrong name. Redirects are for searching, not for fixing bad names.

2. Take that spelling up with Nintendo.

Heh... yeah, that was lazy of me, way back when I launched that. It should be fixed. The simplest way would be to launch Mother and then rearrange the redirects to there (if we're correcting the name, we should put it in the appropriate namespace, too).

As for the issue of using MOTHER instead of Mother, that's actually a semantic headache all its own. I will note that it's not unusual for Japanese companies to use all-caps when the name of something in the original Japanese release is in English. On the rare instances where Nintendo of America does acknowledge the series (such as in Super Smash Bros Brawl), they refer to it as Mother, so the all-caps is not necessary.

EDIT: Oh, someone already migrated that. Lovely.

My original suggestion was based on the thought that the page hadn't been migrated to the "Video Game" namespace yet (it was launched before the advent of namespaces), so the suggestion was to handle the migration and the name shift at the same time. I should have checked first; someone already migrated it.

Well it's still on the wrong main name, as are all the sub pages.

There was a comment on the IJBM page (before the rename to Headscratchers) that stated that the page should not be at Earth Bound Zero. However, Main.Mother couldn't be used, for obvious reasons. Now that we've been migrating pages to namespaces, VideoGame.Mother should be the title. Alternatively, VideoGame.Mother could be for the series and VideoGame.Mother1 could be for the game.

I did the latter, to change Main.Mother to a disambiguation due to being a common English word, as well as the series having no media other than video games. The page is now located at VideoGame.Mother 1.

All of the redirects for MOTHER1 have been policed, and the search is added to the "maintaining cleanups" thread. Locking up.
