Also, Obama's not going to give condolences or apologize:
Oh, that's just typical for American foreign policy - thinking they can go anywhere and bomb or shoot anything!

Oh, that's just typical for American foreign policy - thinking they can go anywhere and bomb or shoot anything!

Obama couldn't afford to apologize, politically, even if he wanted to.

I really do think that, once we're out of Afghanistan—which, though a just war, is also a pointlessly impossible one—we should drop our "friendship" with Pakistan like it's hot and never look back...

[up] An impossible war? Kill every fundie in Afghanistan and the war is won.

^^ There are no such things as "impossible wars".

Obama couldn't afford to apologize, politically, even if he wanted to.
That just further proves my point. It's institutional in US-American foreign policy, and not something particular to the Obama government.

So, indeed, chances of an US-American apology are small. Which just further justifies Pakistan in everything they'll do in response.

@Savage,

I care not for spending the time and money to let you do that.

@Tom,

"Impossible" includes "too costly."

It's not worth my parents' tax dollars to continue this anymore.

It is however worth mine. I pay taxes too ya know. And I vote with a religious regularity.

~shrug~

Then raise taxes on the rich and let them pay for their own war.

Need I bring up the "every gun made..." quote again? We killed Bin Laden. We won't win in a reasonable amount of time, and with a reasonable budget. It is pointless.

We killed Bin Laden. We won't win in a reasonable amount of time, and with a reasonable budget. It is pointless.

Bin Laden's death was no longer effective after November 9 2001 when the Siege of Tora Bora allowed him to escape to Pakistan. Everything functional passed from his control, he was a figurehead nothing more. Al Qaeda operations will not stop against us until we destroy Al Qaeda. They'll follow us back here and once again history will repeat.

We either win this war or give in to their demands, they won't stop trying to kill us otherwise.

So once again, let the rich pay for their own wars.

Until then, I would not have you squander the lives and money of Americans on functionally unwinnable wars.

The rich did not start this war. The rich are just as responsible for this war as YOU ARE. You were in diapers when the planes hit but they did NOT care who was there. Rich, poor, man, woman, child, they were all targets.

Take your class warfare out of real warfare.

As for Pakistan they'll just have to shove it up their ass and take it, they can't afford a war with us.

The rich who control Congress went into an undeclared war and lowered their own taxes while they were at it while expecting people like my parets to simply pick up the slack. "Job creators" my ass.

Fuck them.

Or they could just keep the supply lines shut. We won't declare war on them, it'll never fly with the people.

We don't need to. Pakistan is a two bomb state, they want to be a nuclear power let's see them handle actual nuclear war. Our cost to nuke Pakistan is minimal, they on the other hand can't afford even a single strike. They'll never be able to retaliate.

Also the rich didn't go into undeclared war via Congress, AL QAEDA DECLARED WAR ON US! No really. They struck first, they declared the war, they started the war. It's our job to finish the war with our victory.

You cannot be serious. Christ, we don't even live on the same planet.

And that argument would be fine if they didn't lower their own taxes and didn't go into Iraq.

Alternatively, we could just blockade'em, cut off all trade going in or out of Pakistan... And starve their fundie asses until they become more secular and liberal than the goddamned Netherlands.

Other countries can police themselves how they like if they leave others alone.

We're the outside element. We should be the ones leaving, rather than pointlessly trying to enact neoconservative garbage for policy...

[up] Your willingness to tolerate authoritarian social conservatives both at home and abroad is quite disturbing. Considering all the pointless and downring evil stuff the government wastes fuckloads of cash on, making Islamists miserable almost looks like a worthwile investment.

I am much less tolerant of them at home. Abroad, it's not my problem unless we have crimes against humanity.

And no, Islamic law does not qualify as such.

You're seriously advocating a United States of America first-strike nuclear war.

You're Grade-A insane if that's really your plan.

Don't get nukes if you don't want to be considered a threat. I don't take threats to this country and its people. If Pakistan wants to do that, I have no sympathy for any citizen of Pakistan and what their idiotic government brought upon them.
