I'm looking to ask for Homeworld for Christmas and aim to put it on my laptop, which I believe is a Windows 7. Would it run on something that far removed from its release year?

According to its Wikipedia entry, Homeworld runs just fine in Windows 7.

I found more stuff by googling "Homeworld Windows 7".
