It seems Jagex wants to bring old school to consoles.

So, I’m going back to Runescape and...yeah, there have been changes.

Does the Combat Triangle still work?

Also, any tips for a beginning archer?

[up]So up until the very endgame the styles are roughly balanced so it doesn't really matter too much what you use (then its Range >>> Melee > Magic).

Most enemies have affinity values which determine how accurate styles are against them, but unless its a monster with a specific mechanic you can mostly do whatever.

Really though you'll want to be leveling all three styles eventually. Especially with how ridiculously fast you can level combat nowadays.

It's kind of hard to give specific tips for a beginner, but most of the gear before 70 is dirt cheap, although sometimes difficult to buy from the Grand Exchange, but the various types of Dragonhide tend to be easy to purchase.

The official wiki which the chatbox now links to - is also an invaluable resource especially with outlines of which leveling methods are best to use.
