What I've been told is that the Japanese Emperors rarely make public appearances and haven't really been important except as symbols for over 500 years, so they're not something Japanese people think about very often.

I've noticed that most anime and manga don't mention Japanese emperors. Perhaps due to respect or fear of being sued by the Imperial Household Agency?
Which anime and manga do mention and explicitly show Japanese emperors and their family, real or fiction?
