I don't like it.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The heck is going on there? Is that the boss on the central platform? And the whole thing is kinda blurry.
I have a message from another time...It looks like he's somehow slinging magic with the sword.
The 3-panel pic is Pete firing his weapon, Mickey hitting it back, and the weapon hitting Pete. I've got other pics from the same battle, but I dunno if they'll be any clearer...I couldn't find any static pics of that fight that were any better than the original that was posted.
I repeat, there are already images on Image Links. We don't need to replace anything.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack
Except the ones on Image Links are kinda bad. I think the first Epic Mickey one is the best, and I think making a three panel is unnecessary. Just get a good shot like the first one of the disk being knocked back and you're golden.
Epic Mickey's a little unclear because of usual video-quality reasons and the camera being at a wide angle for the boss battle (no helping that, sorry). But making it a three-panel is unnecessary; I'd say two panels at best.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I'd be happy with the first Epic Mickey pic; the 3-parter was to address the "hitting the boss" issue that was raised.
From A Link To The Past, I'm pretty sure it's the trope codifier:
And one from Wind Waker.

That LTTP is actually a good one. It really helps that his projectile flashes different colors, but unfortunately the projectile is the same color as Link's sword, and we don't want people thinking it's just a Sword Beam on Link's part.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.The Ltt P one looks good.
I think it looks good and not like a Sword Beam.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Does a boss count as a Tennis Boss if the "tennis" part is optional? If so, I might be able to capture a multi-part image from one of the bosses in Adventure Story, likely the first. While vulnerable to normal attacks, it can also be harmed by bombs that are thrown out occasionally and which the player can deflect back with an appropriately-timed hit.
I would be hoping to get a shot just after the bomb is thrown (which should hopefully make it quite clear that it is being thrown, thanks, I think, to the animations), a shot of the player hitting the bomb, and a shot of it heading back to the boss.
(All of this depends on my finding a good screenshot mechanism, but I imagine that there are options, whether an add-on for Firefox or Fraps.)
My Games & WritingOh, I'm a big fan of that Wind Waker one.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I'd say that would count.
@ post 38: should I do a version where the projectile is red in both parts?
I really like both of them... The WW one would work if there was a second one... though it does show what's about to happen I think it still needs a second image. The LTTP one is very good.
A couple new versions of the LTTP sequence.
Eh... now its just getting clunky. I personally hate sequence pics, I think we've seen some examples of single pics doing the job, can we try to get some of those?
I like the single-frame Wind Waker.
It looks good: Sandbox.Tennis Boss
edit: tweaked image slightly

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I don't really care for that because it doesn't make the "returning the shot" as obvious as the Ltt P one.
It is less mind-numblingly obvious but it looks a lot better.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I agree. If you show an energy ball getting hit with a sword in the direction of an evil-looking guy, it shouldn't be hard to put the rest together.
It's not like this trope is confusing or prone to misuse, so this isn't a case where we have to be really careful about using a picture that shows every single little detail of the trope.
