I just discovered this show thanks to a recommendation from That Fellow In The Coat, and I noticed that not only is the show Trope Overdosed, but most of the episodes are overdosed themselves. So I was thinking we could get the huge trope list on the show down by making episode recaps and moving the tropes that fit on just one or two episodes.

BTW, if we decide to do this, I would need help, as I haven't seen every episode.

Yeah, sure. I don't think you need consensus to make recap pages—just do the work. Maybe ask over in the Western Animation forums for volunteers?

Rhymes with "Protracted."

The trope moving is actually what needs consensus, which is why I brought it up here.

It is true that each episode is trope overdosed. However, the 3 seasons and 15 minute format means there are way too many episodes for this and there are episodes that are less trope-choked than others.

I would recommend getting the recap pages only for 30 minute-long episodes and perhaps a few notable 15 minute ones like the pilot.

Yeah doubling might be best. Would this be a good format?

Does this really need a repairshop thread? It seems pointless... Probably something better done in the work's thread or disscussion page.

Got the holler. It's a high-level change to proposed to address an issue with a fairly lengthy page, seems reasonable to run a TRS thread to me. Let's get a decision fairly quickly though — shouldn't be too hard: either we go with DQZ's plan or we don't.

I think the current arrangement is reasonable? It keeps the tropes together and avoids the problem of creeping duplication. Seems to be working for The Simpsons.

So you don't agree with splitting the tropes, but do you agree to making the recap pages?

Actually, what I mean is to only consider the single episodes that take 30 minutes as separate entities and let the rest of the episodes in the main pages.

IE: The Beak alone probably needs splitting because it is the one episode that brings tons and tons of super hero tropes. Then we have The chronicles of meap which has enough shoutout material. On the other hand, episodes like Candace loses her head are not so different from the rest of the episodes and can deal with sharing tropes with the main page.

Okay, trying to be selective is jut asking for trouble, as some will disagree on what episodes should or shouldn't get split off. In this case all or none is needed to be objective beyond argument.

Also, doubling episodes on the recaps increases the likelyhood of each page having enough tropes to split.

I think a re-cap page seems like a good idea. Episodes that don't have many individual tropes on them just won't become as long as the other.

Should we make a page action crowner?

You mean a little link at the top, for Crownign Moment Of Awesome and the like? Eh, I think we can probably hold off on that. Shows such as Doctor Who don't have even have that. Let's get the page built and move from there.

However, if I've misunderstood you, my bad.

A page action crowner means we put up what to do with the page up to a vote. In this case, options might be leaving the page as it is, making recaps but not moving the tropes, or making recaps and moving tropes.

I like how no option has a positive score, including the "do nothing" option. Aren't crowners great?

Personally, I voted positive for both "make recaps but don't move tropes". Why? Mostly because I think some tropes which fit the show would be difficult to apply to any one episode.

For example: Strictly Formula. Where would you put this? On the very first episode page? How about Catch Phrases? Once again, it would be silly to put it down in every episode one is used, considering how common it is (best only to list subversions), but it deserves to be listed somewhere.

I say we follow what other shows with recap pages do: let the tropes on the recaps fill naturally, but leave the overall lists in place.

(I'm neutral on 15 min or 30 min, although I think 15 minutes would be easier to write for, especially for episodes with less formulaic plots).

[up][up]I adjusted the crowner options' text to eliminate that confusion. Please change your vote, if that solved your issue.
