I don't want to pull without a replacement. Even without showing the effects, the Medusa-head image is quickly communicating that this trope is not restricted to sound, which I think is important.
Rhymes with "Protracted."has a good point and I'm seconding his Keep Until Better Image Suggested, if nothing because while gorgons are probably unknown to most people, it's safe to assume the majority to know who Medusa is. The best I can think of is to look for a picture that also shows the transformation into stone.
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".Here's the thread that led to that pic being put on the page...I'd forgotten that I sort-of supported that pic being put up, so I'll change my stance to Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
Clock is set.
Fun fact: that is a painting (on a shield!) by Caravaggio.
edit: Oh hey I suggested it. Repeating something from the old thread: the effects of Medusa's gaze are really well-known. It works even after she is beheaded, which is what is depicted. Bonus.
Not that it's perfect, I understand wanting to see an effect. But it's pretty solid. Would take a great suggestion to displace.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Vote to keep. Famous enough to bypass JAFAAC.
Clock's up; locking up, tagging the page to reflect this thread. Locking up.
Even if she is an example, it doesn't show the effect, which is the other half of this trope.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
