Final Fantasy V is pretty much the second best in the series behind FFIX. But not the PS 1 version. And the fact that I already own the discs for Chrono Cross means this pretty much is, as @18 said, a winter of discontent.
Still, I'd recommend Cross to anyone who hasn't played it. It's a fairly... interesting game, and a difficult one to boot. Don't expect anything left hanging from Trigger to be cleared up after you're done, though.
Apparently, someone hasn't met the Final Fantasy Fandom which would disagree with some part* of this statement...
It's a good thing to do, for those who don't own the games... But most who wanted to play them(and missed their chance 10+ years ago) probably already did on an emulator...

From what I heard, Chrono Cross is a really awesome game on its own, but a RAGE-inducing sequel.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."You know what I'd really like? New RP Gs that don't suck. I'm not going to get enthusiastic about their porting old games that I already have and can replay whenever I want.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back. Are V and VI enjoyable games? They've been on the PSN for some time now, but I couldn't decide whether they're worth my time after so many years.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI loved V, but I didnt like VI all that much.
I haven't played V, but VI gets the award of "Final Fantasy game that made me bored enough to quit fastest," which is quite an impressive feat, as it's in tough competition there.

Infinite Tree: an experimental storyVI is generally considered the best Final Fantasy game.
Also, you guys saying "I already own these!" or "They suck!"...good for you? I mean I can understand discussing your feelings on the games, but if you already own these...stfu instead of bitching about it. Obviously you're not going to be excited. :|
I could care less how bad the ports are. You go play Bayonetta on the PS 3. THAT'S A BAD FUCKING PORT! -cries-
I miss the days when Square felt they had to produce new good stuff to get fans excited.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.^^I know it's often considered one of the best; that's why I tried it.
But VI made me bored enough to drop it after about an hour and a half or so, while I made it I think most of the way through IV, so...-shrugs-
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyI never get tired of people asking loaded questions like these.
@Dolomite: actually, it does resolve two big plot threads from CT, Namely Dealing with the paradox of Lavos being defeated despite his defeat causing Chrono and friends never needing to go to defeat Lavos to begin with, and with the whereabouts of Schala after her mysterious disappearance during the destruction of the Ocean palace
Everything on this series is divisive.
@ten I don't think VI or any FF is generally considered to be the best.
@lu I hear they're good games, but .......eh I prefer Dissidia, Tactics, the KH series and probably Versus XIII when it comes out. I'd say they're worth your time.

I was wondering why frisbees got bigger as they got closer then it hit me.So, in wich moment this thread was converted in a complaint one?, If you dont like these, then why you people bother to post here?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/I've played all of those and Tactics is my favourite, but I'm curious about the older SNES games. If they don't age well, I don't think I'll want to play them....
If any of them have the job system though, I'm interested.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerIf this causes a paradox, everything that they go back in time to fix should cause a paradox. The non-paradox-causingness is a basic premise of the game.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back. Can't say for sure ? The only main FF I've played and almost finished is FFXIII .......and X sort of. I was just being a troll before. More people like VI than V though.

I was wondering why frisbees got bigger as they got closer then it hit me.Oh hey, another Trigger/Cross shitstorm thread. This'll be fun.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Pick your side.
I was wondering why frisbees got bigger as they got closer then it hit me.I pick Waldorf and Statler's side. At least I won't have to type ten paragraphs on why I picked their side.
Ohohohoho.
I haven't played either, so the "FFV's GBA port side is better than the PS 1's port" side?
OH SNAP
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.Exactly. If you don't like the games, good for you. Don't post here. Why stir shit up in the Fan Dumb?
I shall lead the Radiant Historia republic (all three of us) into glorious battle against these filthy Chrono heathens.

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Nay! It is us of the Shin Megami Tensei army who shall crush all foes!
Both Chronos and both of those F Fs suck.
Now when are they being released ? The link's not working for me.
