It would help you organize your thoughts, and maybe even relieve them from your mind.
When I have "story mania," the note-taking works for me.

Schedule a time period (say 5PM to 7PM) and place (your room) for your writing, and do not under any circumstances write outside of that time or place. That way your creative energy will associate creative work with them, and find it harder to distract you everywhere else.
cut off your hands so that you will never be able to write again. sure, it will crush your dreams, but when you look back on it, you can say 'at least i got out of doing that test at school!'

In seriousness...I would recommend getting away from the computer. I've tried, really tried, to work on actual homework in the same room as the computer I do writing and TVTropes on, and it just never works.

Okay...I have a BFT (Big Fucking Test) in four days, but writing ideas, both my original project and fanfics, started to rampantly plotbunnyreproducing that it clogs my mind and distracts me from studying.
I know that the test is far more important, but damn it, those ideas are just far too fun to just ignore (although you guys probably won't share my sentiment). I really need to concentrate and how can I suppress this idea explosion?
