Those are not tiny on the dog's head, and has the tassel.

Regardless, what about my suggestion?

I can find you pictures of tiny fezes. This is like me asking you to find sunglasses that are that exact shade of pink because otherwise I can't believe they're glasses. It's just silly at this point.

It still wouldn't make your image work because it still just looks like sunglasses, no mind control. Not sure I see a reason to revamp the mind control tropes just so you can try to shoehorn your image in. It's just bound to confuse people for no real gain.

1. You didn't give that qualifier on the kind of glasses before.

2. "pink designer glasses" in image searches show plenty of glasses. As for that shade of pink, it doesn't matter, since the band wore a variety. And colored sunglasses aren't exactly rare.

3. I'm not trying to shoehorn it in. Those ARE examples (not that we have to use that one, as I'd actually prefer some form of comic panel). My point is the current pic is shoehorned in, and you have to argue whether those look like hats, but have to cherry pick sunglasses not looking like sunglasses (the cherry picking coming from just discussing one member of the band instead of mentioning the others).

4. You STILL haven't addressed the split I proposed to resolve this neatly.

I'll just repeat my suggestion for splitting.

1. A trope for any mind control device that has to be worn (that the current picture would fit). This would be so that just taking it off is the easiest way to break the spell.

2. Any mind control device disguised as something else (and can overlap with the other trope if it's disguised as clothing). This would both make victims turn/put them on accidentally, and hide where the control source is from the victim's friends.

I did address the split. I said I don't see the point of it and I still don't.

I guess you did, but you assumed a motive as a point against it, which is not an argument if the motive isn't what I actually had.

And the point is that this trope requires two points, the picture only covering one (after all, this is in his lab, so there is no need to actually disguise his devices as hats), but two tropes on each point would still be sufficient, considering the reasons I stated.

@DQZ: If you think you have a set of pictures that can display the trope better than the current pic, post it. The picture in the OP doesn't work (she looks like she's wearing sunglasses), and all your other posts are just saying that you can get screencaps that work. If you can get screencaps that show the trope, post them so we can decide whether to use them or not.

Also, whether the trope needs to be split is a matter for TRS, not this thread.

Unfortunately, I'm still looking for a frame that shows it's the diodes on the glasses (I can show the control with other frames though, just not the item connection). But I do realize something with one or two frames would be better. If only there were more comic panels showing this trope online.

And I know a split is for TRS. I was just throwing it out here due to the backlog.

This is not the place for TRS overflow.

Anyway, I edited the OP a little. Again, the episode makes it clear that the devices are not hats. So claiming they look like fezzes is not a valid defense of the picture.

Unfortunately, I'm still having trouble finding a good picture to connect the control to the glasses in the movie, but I'm also looking for something in a comic (standard, manga, or web) that can show this trope in one or two panels.

EDIT: Whoa. This doesn't have any sort of comic examples on the page. The name might be confusing people. I would say this will need at least something done in TRS (likely a rename to help get more attention) later on.
