Dining Hall

It was a while till Alvin finally found himself in the dining hall, where the trapdoor led him. Apparently a sudden hallucination was to blame. Yes, the memories of those he'd betrayed came back at the worst of times, but Alvin gained the fortitude to shake off those thoughts and press onward.

Just in time to run into Korra, the kids and the other members of Team Science.

Noticing that his supposed "competitors" were in the room, Alvin scratched the back of his head as he quickly formulated some plans in his head should things go south.

"Well...this is awkward."

No time like the present to get information out of them though.

Sky went to take his T-Pod given to him by Donatello.

"Right, Urza." The officer said after he heard Urza's plan. "I'll see if I can reach anyone."

"It's Sky. Listen, I just met up with someone who wants to take care of a situation before we can make any progress. I need to know your locations."

Toph was about to snarl back at Gavrill, but what the stitched-up woman saw was an even wider grin. "Sure!" She said out loud in a sing song voice. "I can barely hold my excitement!"

"My suggestion was based purely on the fact that last time we were here, we worked together!" Donatello said, turning to Korra. "They remember it, don't you guys?"

Without turning from Toph, Gavrill casually reached her other hand over to Amethyst and with one finger, flicked her forehead with enough force to knock her backwards.

"It's starting to look like this shithole of a world won't be a total waste of my time. Well, let's get to it then, shall we?"

She set off back out the doors, whistling cheerfully to herself.

The Main Hall

"I love it when a group comes together. It's the sign of perfect storytelling!" Varrick exclaimed, looking at the group of Seekers and smiling. "Zhu Li, write it down! We could use that idea for a mover!" He then looked at Ryuuko. "That! That is also what I need! Zhu Li, draw a perfect recreation of that woman's dress! We're going to revolutionize the fashion industry!"

"Oh, the Meddling Monk!" Bumi clapped his hands like a giddy little kid. "I've been wanting to go to his stand ever since we arrived at the festival, but Tenzin here won't let me do it."

"He sounds like he's half charlatan and half storyteller." Tenzin replied, crossing his arms. Asami was too busy staring at Gavrill, always wincing back whenever her eyes surveyed the direction she was in, inherently creeped out by the woman's stitches.

"Hold up a second." Mako raised his hand, pointing at Toph. "That's Toph?! Toph Bei Fong?!"

"Yeah, Mako." Korra raised an eyebrow. "Did you forget?"

"I never saw her last time she was here!" Mako continued, walking over to Toph so he can shake her hand. "This is amazing! Oh, Bolin won't believe it."

"He already knows." Asami added.

"He does?!" Mako continued. "Am I the only one that didn't get to meet you?"

"Anyhow, a spirit portal," Korra explained to Alvin and anyone who wanted to hear. "It's just what the name says. It's the point where the connection between the human and spirit worlds are their strongest. That's why they're portals... people say spirits can cross them, but, I really doubt it."

Right at that moment, the ground shook as if an earthquake had just passed through the palace at lightning speed. Throwing Varrick to the floor, the rest of the group looked around in surprise. "What just happened?" Mako asked out loud.

"Don't know. Can't be safe." Tenzin said, turning to his children. "Kids, go to your mother! No 'aaaww', I can't have any of you getting hurt!" As he watched his kids move out, Bumi and Kya followed Icarax as closely as possible, the former because he thought the guy looked cool, and the latter because she wanted to make sure that he didn't cause any problems.

However, the answer to any questions regarding the earthquake presented itself: running towards the festival on the distance, in a speed impossible to discern due to a sudden snowstorm covering the area around the festival (but not the festival itself, apparently), and the quickest sunset any of the Seekers had ever seen before. Slithering, crawling, running and jumping their way towards the festival were a bunch of slightly translucid glowing beings of different shapes, disappearing in the snowstorm...

"That doesn't look good." Korra muttered, whistling and gritting her teeth as her polar bear dog, Naga, came into view. As she hopped on top of it, holding out a hand for Mako and Asami to join her, she looked over at the Seekers. "Anyone who has a way to help the others move faster, do just that!" She yelled out, just as Tenzin created air bubbles around him and Bumi. "We need to get to the festival before those things do!"

Kya actually walked up to Jude and Fletcher. "Heard a conversation about a medic. Spill it. What do you guys need?"

Throne Room

"I'm here."

Sokka's voice came from behind both Urza and Sky as he came into view. No longer covered by the big winter clothes, he was now clad in the armor Urza had designed for him during their training: thin metal plates guarded his body (torso, arms from bicep to wrist and legs from thigh to shin), his usual clothes underneath them, but the joints were uprotected. Spread throughout the armor were tiny points, unseen to the common eye, but working together through the forces of magnetism to accelerate even the simplest of motions.

As Sokka walked towards them, he couldn't help but smile as his step started getting faster. The launchers mounted on his wrist were gripped by his fingerless glove wearing hands as he stopped near his master, one hand resting atop his usual sword, gently tickling the powerstone blade fastened to his hip, the other hand holding onto the enhanced boomerang, which he quickly clipped to the back of his armor. "I'm ready for action. What's our mission?" He asked as he put on the helmet, pulling down the integrated goggles over his eyes, the two small wolf ears on top of the helmet allowing him the chance to look like a true Southern Water Tribe warrior.

The Festival

Loki put his staff in front of Vel'koz. "Do not succumb to the sin of gluttony." He chided. "It is possible that if you disintegrate this object, the spell will be broken and we do not know what the side effects of that will be. These people may be so integrated into this spell, that breaking it out of nowhere will send them into a coma... or worse." He turned to Jinkuro. "A sound idea. Let's make it a date."

Without another word, he waved his hand in front of the person in front of the line, walking past them as the people on the line seemed to not see Jinkuro or Vel'koz or even Nerile as they entered the stall. Inside, on a dimly-lit environment, the four Seekers were faced with a crowd of children and adults sitting on chairs in front of a haphazardly made stage. Standing on the other side of the stage was a small puppet of a snake being controlled by a hand, facing a puppet of a tweed-wearing man. "Noooooo!" The puppeteer slithered as the snake puppet fell to his (supposedly gloomy) death.

The crowd of children erupted into applause, the adults following it with their own mildly interested applauses, when the same tweed-wearing man, wearing a party hat, popped out from behind the stage, bowing to the applause. "Thank you, thank you!" He said, smiling wildly. "Watch out for those pumpkins and safes! Welcome, good departings, farewell, don't take that book from the library!"

"Excuse me." A female voice came from behind the Seekers, as a woman with a red dress and Southern Water Tribe clothes thrown over said red dress walked up to them. "May I see your tickets?"

B.B. Hood rolled her eyes when the ground shook suddenly and randomly, which led the Darkhunter to glance outside.

"Hey, Blondie!" B.B. Hood yelled out to Maria and pointed out at the creatures headed towards the festival. "You're the spirit girl so what do you make of that?"

Maria looked over at where B.B. Hood was pointing and raised an eyebrow, "We need to take care of that as soon as possible!"

Both Maria and B.B. Hood then began to follow the other Seekers outside, Hood checking on her weaponry and Maria looking slightly worried about what was happening. Seiga followed after Maria.

Toph couldn't help but smile at hearing another person sing her praises. "You're gonna make me blush." She chuckled, shaking Mako's hand in return. "Last time I saw you, I looked like Shelly over there. But yeah, it's me. Greatest earthbender in the world and all." She raised an eyebrow. "Your brother's the earthbender, right? I'd like to see him, his style was very different. And I don't say that to any style."

Donatello started writing something on his T-Pod, and when the warning about the spirits outside came in, he was the first one out the door. "Vehicles!" He exclaimed when the question of movement was brought up. "Does this palace have vehicles?" He asked Korra. "I remembered seeing some rudimentary vehicles on the city... we could use those!"

Toph, however, went for a different option. "Time to bust out of these!" She yelled, pulling on her shoes, the soles flying out as she made the connection between her and the icy earth beneath her. She spread her arms, the earth rumbling, before she brought both of them down, a round earth platform erecting out of the ground, the snow falling off it. She twisted one arm, the platform turning with it, earth spreading around Toph's feet and holding her in place. "See you guys on the other side!" She punched the air with one hand, then with the other, the platform moving throught the earth after the spirits, as if it was a primitive 'earth' train, with Toph as the engine.

"I know the girls can handle themselves," Rayman said to Sasuke, with a confident smirk.

However, before things could come to blows, it seemed the two teams resolved (reluctantly) to track down a monk, who apparently knew something about a man who traveled around in a blue box. Maria seemed familiar with the subject, but before Rayman could ask what that was about, monsters attacked the fairground.

"Looks like the uglies have come out to play!" Rayman said, somewhat excitedly. Taking out a small flask from his coat, and took a swig. Then, the two fronds of hair on top Rayman's head began spinning at incredible speed, actually lifting Rayman straight into the air. "Anybody need a lift?" Rayman asked, his hair keeping him flying in midair.

Icarax

I stopped in my tracks upon feeling the shaking of the earth. In all it's forms and all the universes, I knew that some heralds of trouble never changed. As I paused in my steps, I heard the alarmed responses of my teams mates and confirmed that indeed this was no common occurrence.

Of course, we weren't a common occurrence either.

I smiled as I connected the dots and placed a safe bet that whatever was causing this trouble had something to do with us. Striding outside, I took in the sudden change in scene: the snow storm and the strange alien creatures. If it hadn't been for the distinctly alien beings, I would have blamed the snow storm on the ice wielder; however, seeing that she was still in fact standing around in mild shock like a dumb thing, it couldn't have been her. Another reason then.

Soon, our teams were scurrying around me and I was able to discern from them the collected natives- especially the ones confident enough to go charging in. My teammates were quick to follow in their dust, too quick perhaps. No matter, I did not expect them to do anything more than to bound from one objective to another like wild rahi; since I too was part of the team and am supposed to 'function with the team' I decided to tag along.

Besides, it has been far too long since I've had an actual fight in my hands.

I couldn't help and chuckle slightly as I rolled my shoulders and spread my wings. The now mechanical appendages snapped out and flattened together into four massive black wings. Razor edged and powerful, they would have me there in the blink of an eye. Of course, that was why I was smiling.

With a flap of the wings, a furious gust was whipped up around me. I tensed and jumped upwards. The wings did the rest. Within seconds I was rising high above the ground, beneath me, a complete view of the battle field. The darkness of night had enclosed us in it's comforting grasp- I was at full power now, a good preset to the battle to come. I hung in the air for a brief moment, then allowed myself to plummet straight down to the earth.

Straight into the midst of the raging storm.

"HRAAAAAAAHHHH"

With a great shout slammed my fists into the ground. The air around me contorted them exploded out in a wave darkness so absolute, it made the night look pale.

Elsa

As Kya approached Fletcher and Jude, a third figure materialized out of the night's storm. Dressed in a dress seemingly made out of ice over white fabric, the platinum blonde's clear blue eyes were alight with worry. The storm tonight was unnatural and dangerous. If it were not for the boy currently struggling at her side, she would already be in the fight, stopping the storm.

"Jude? Fletcher?"

Elsa rushed forwards towards them and looked them up and down.

thank goodness you were back. I'm so sorry I couldn't join you inside but the door was held against us. Now....

At this point Kya intruded into the scene and Elsa quickly approached and did a slight curtsey before gesturing towards Armani who was right now still lying in the snow.

"I'm sorry to trouble you at a time such as this but we have a boy in need of healing. He's been badly injured by a blizzard. Is there some way you can remedy this?"

Elsa cast a worried look into the storm raging below them. The evil shapes glowing within them did nothing to cool her nerves. Tonight was going to be busy and she had arrived here not a second too late.

So this spirit portal thing was their objective? Alvin wasn't dumb enough to assume that spirits in this world worked the same as spirits from his, but his mind wandered to how his revolver would work in this scenario. Nothing worth mulling over however, as things were happening.

Very dark, snake-y, threatening things were happening.

Urza, reaching the threshhold of the palace, saw Icarax take flight into the storm. The construct would only have departed for a good reason, and given it's attitude, the artificer suspected that reason was combat. Well and good. Likely some of the other team would be there as well. They could distract whatever was attacking while he found this monk.

"I am going to find this monk," he said. "It may take a short while, but I will be back for anyone remaining here when I find him."

He began a series of short planeswalks down and into the festival grounds, remaining in one place only long enough to turn around and scan the various booths and attractions for any sign of his quarry. He had a limited amount of space to search and a crowd of hundreds to question if he could not locate someone who by the shaman's account seemed like an obvious sight.

Certainly not the reaction Alvin was expecting.

"She...likes me already? I think I'm losing my scumbag credentials. Heh, surely Uncle Gilland would look at me now and laugh."

Alvin shoved those depressing thoughts out and got to the task at hand. The last thing he wanted in the middle of a mission was to have another episode.

"Right. Always happy to lead a lady to the stage."

Alvin led the way as Kara asked, his trigger finger itching. If he did anything right, it was to lie, and fight. And the latter was a much more attractive option from a moral standpoint.

Outside the Palace

"The first thing we need to do," Kya said, getting on one knee near Armani. "Is get this boy inside." She opened up her pouch, a stream of water floating out of it. It flowed in the air in front of her, and Kya stared intently at it, the water moving faster and faster until she lowered her hands, the water following them. It covered Armani's chest, heating him up, but also healing any injuries that might have been made to the outer layers of his body. "This oughta jolt him up, but you two need to keep him awake for me. Slap him, shake him, whatever you gotta do, don't let him drift away." She asked Wonder Girl and Elsa as two guards moved closer to help move him inside.

At Donatello's 'vehicles' comment- and most of the teams desire for something to take them closer to the spirits as fast as possible- the sound of a revving engine filled the air, as none other than Varrick appeared from around the palace, driving a snow moped with one passenger cabin attached to the side, Zhu Li coming up behind him with the same moped (plus one more passenger cabins) and some difficulty, as could be seen by her chattering teeth. "Courtesy of Varrick Industries!" He yelled out, stepping out of the moped. "Zhu Li, make a note that they have to pay me later."

The closer the group got to the spirits, however, the harsher the snowstorm would get, to the point that those without special abilities would have difficulties with seeing anything five feet in front of them. Only a few spirits stopped upon seeing the advancing Seekers, the others continuing on their path towards the festival. The ones that did stop simply stood and stared at the obstacles on their way. A toad-like green spirit stood in front of Gavrill, his yellow eyes blinking constantly.

The explosions did their best to create a mildly hidden light show, with each crater they created on the snow instantly replaced by even more snow. But most importantly, those blasts? They did nothing at all. One landed right under a spirit and he just continued moving like it was nothing. But one of them, a bizarre purple humanoid spirit running like a dog ran towards one of the orks, attempting to leap into one of Mekboss' 'helpers'. If successful, the ork would suddenly gain a purple aura, his eyes glowing yellow as he turned his weapons towards his allies, using them without a single ounce of control, as a tail seemed to try and sprout out of the ork's clothes, fur growing over his skin...

But everything changed when Icarax made his attack. The wave of darkness didn't destroy the spirits as much as it strengthened them. Spirits who were once meek little legless things suddenly grew into dog-like beasts with fearsome jaws. Spirits who were big got even bigger. The wave of darkness created an amalgamation of spirits the size of a bear. And speaking of bears... Naga soon came into view, followed by Tenzin and Bumi. Korra jumped from her polar bear, immediately whipping up a ball of water around her and sending several water whips towards the spirits. The whips... did nothing, and before she could counter attack, the spirit raised its slender arm and slapped her towards the floor.

"Korra!" Asami yelled out, as Mako tried to fight back against one of the spirits, his attacks doing nothing but distracting them.

"It didn't work?" Korra asked as she, groaning, got back up. "Bending doesn't work on them?!" She asked, desesperately.

"It doesn't seem to!" Tenzin replied, sending a blast of air which created a hole in a spirit's body, but did nothing much. "Perhaps the bending can be used to shoo them away, but not directly injure them—" Tenzin yelled out, before the snowstorm got even heavier, his voice and shape being lost in the darkness of the area.

"Tenzin!" Korra yelled out, gritting her teeth and sending a combined blast of fire and air into a nearby spirit, causing him to divide into two smaller spirits, charging towards Asami. "It still doesn't work!"

The Palace

Sokka nodded, looking out the window. "Things are picking up out there. Something bad's going down, and we need to help." He looked back. "Sifu Sam? We're gonna need your help! There are things to be slashed out there!"

Festival Grounds

It didn't take long until Urza found the long line leading to the Meddling Monk's tent... but he also found something else. In the distance, a powerful snowstorm was pretty much covering up the sun, moving closer and closer to the festival. Some of the people in line noticed it, spreading the news, and many of the visitors were running back to their homes, the stand owners collecting their merchandise in order to not lose it. However, no one had a look of surprise in their face- snowstorms were common in the South Pole, after all.
