Shin Mazinger was completely over the top and made just as little sense as TTGL did. (Seriously there's a point where Zeus (Yes, that Zeus) picks up his severed arm and throws it shouting "ROCKET PUNCH") And I was only saying it was ironic that people on the net STILL picked it apart for being too "unlike" TTGL. (Although that might be because it managed to make LESS sense than TTGL, as it's ending was a troll ending.)

Just ebcause the action scenes are that way does not mean you can't play the plot completely seriously.

Gao Gai Gar is still different, though, It's a way different kind of thing, it's allmost like GGG's plot and GGG's action could have well been two seperate shows.

to the point where the action and everything was only secondary in my mind and I watched it for how good the story was, I could care less how over the top the action was.

I want to see intriguing plot, though, and most SR shows that has it's plot be just as rediculous as it's action scenes? Then some of the magic is lost.

There has to be some sort of balance, between over the top and coherance. Otherwise there's just no rhyme or reason for anything.
