Well, I think they took some artistic license with it because there really aren't bayous in that area, not as much as in the trailer for the film. Doesn't mean they don't exist, but I personally have not been through one.

I've been interested in this movie for quite some time (I come from the area it's based on) and I can't wait to see how they interpret the story. It looks like a decent cast and an interesting plot, a little different than the source.
It'll be coming out next month in the US.
