This NY Times article [1] mentions that a Phineas and Ferb spinoff about the Fireside Girls. This would probably be similar to the episode Isabella and the Temple of Sap. I want this to happen because I love Phineas and Ferb and want more cartoons with female leads. Nothing has been confirmed, but it is possible, and I want to hear what others think.

That would suck. I'd hate that. (dreams of Humba Wumba in a unicorn body, making me ride on her, creating rainbows)

[up]A little too early to have a opinion on this isnt it?

Well, we don't know what Dan and Jeff signed on for in the new deal they inked, but I for one would be totally for a FSG spin-off. I think there's definitely potential there for a good show.

I wish they'd wait for P&F to end before making a spinoff, just so their attention isn't divided between two shows.

[up][up] Same here. It helps that they're my favorite characters.

<— Spin-off hater arrived.

Oh sure, the Fireside girls have own show potential. But wouldn't that kind of harm the original show? The fireside girls would have to stop appearing as often or something.

Edit: Yeah, let's end the show right now. Or rather let this be the last season, then allow them any spin-off or live-action movie thing. I wouldn't care.

[up]Personally, I don't think it would, but I do see your point.

Then again, this just could be a totally different show and not a spinoff of P&F. We won't know for a long while now.

Please please please don't choose the Fireside Girls. The reason I watch Phineas And Ferb is because it averts the girl-show tropes! But if they think it's an option, I can't fight it.

How come studios choose the poorest choice when it comes to a spin-off of an animated show?

Like I said, Swampy and Jeff are becoming the next Seth Mac Farlanes! They've already signed a deal for another season or two, this spin-off, and are heavily involved in the movie! Hey! While we're at it, lets cancel every other cartoon on Disney and fill all the timeslots with show by Swampy and Jeff's studio!

They are good friends with Seth, afterall.

Anyway, quite honestly, if this spin-off happens, I hope it is nothing like Temple of zaap' , cause although that was good for a change and getting into Izzie's mind, it wasn't really a great'' episode.

[up][up] Let's not go into that territory just yet... You don't know for sure...

Besides that, Family Guy and other shows Seth Mac Farlane made were never good.

Meh. Still hoping for the spin-off being about the second dimension, but that's me. [lol] I love seeing 'fun' characters shunted into halfway-serious situations, which the second dimension did rather well.

OH HECK NO. I'm okay with Phineas and Ferb. It even has a few funny moments. But the original show is boring and repetitive enough, so I don't understand how making a spinoff starring some supporting characters could possibly be a good idea.

Don't forget the linked article is from 2010 anyway. No idea if the spin-off they signed is the same thing as the one rumored here.

Overreact much?

Seriously, according to the details disclosed in the deal, it's just an agreement for a new series. Nowhere does it say that it's a spin-off. It could just be a new show, something to keep Dan and Jeff jumping ship to, say, Nickelodeon or something.

I mean, there's been rumors since last year of a spin-off, but we still don't have any official confirmation of it being a spin-off, a new show, or otherwise. So just take a deep breathe and relax.

I honestly don't think that any character in Phineas and Ferb deserves a spin-off. They're great characters, yes, but they all get as much screentime as they need and none of them seem to "break out" of the ensemble.

It could work. As long as it doesn't become a Phineas and Ferb clone. I'd rather see a spinoff about animal secret agents.

I can't judge because it hasn't come out yet.

I think you guys are being a bit biased about this. I say wait for a trailer at least before you decide whenever or not it'll suck.

I think a spinoff would probably work best after P&F is over. that being said I'd still give it a shot.
