What if you had to live in the world of Lemony Snicket's ASOUE?

I was wondering knowing how much of a crapsack world it is what if you had to live in it.I mean this is not Simpsons crapsackiness where there is some atcual justice in the world but on the level of Family Guy crapsackiness where people are apathetic and downright bastards.I mean this series was pretty depressing for books aimed at kids and Count Olaf was in my opnion a great example of a complete monster and not even his somewhat sympathetic moment in the last book will change my opinion of him.
