And yes, the character designer / artist was responsible for Strike Witches and Sky Girls, the latter of which was already a Konami product

Overall I liked the beginning of this series. I watched the previous OVA and enjoyed it and I it looks like the series may be just as good but with more humour.

Does anyone know if this series and the OVA are in the same continuity or are completely separate?

We can't know for sure. It's never implied that there is a single Arnval limit, or Straf. But I have the hunch and Moon Angel is just a publicity stunt one-off show.

Did they ever name the boy in Moon Angel? The Master character in the TV anime is named Rihito, and the TV anime Arnval is named Ann, while the Moon Angel Arnval is named Kaguya (So I think they're not related). Also in the TV anime's epilogue OVA episode, it is revealed that the TV anime's Master lived in the USA until he returned to Japan for High School.
