Angled irregularly.
Fresh-eyed movie blogAnd that' an American colloquialism?
First off, holy shit, did I spell colloquialism right on the first try?
Secondly, I'm an American, I never heard such a thing.
Makes sense though, the United States is more of an empire than a country.
"Empire" isn't really the best term, unless you include our non-state holdings, and it still doesn't really live up to the word.
Our culture is kind of patchwork though. It's slightly homogenized by national media, but it's still a bit of a stretch to call the entire US a "nation" when you think about it.
"Catty-corner" isn't used a great deal in Indiana (at least central Indiana), but it's used enough that everybody will know what you mean if you say it.
Fresh-eyed movie blogApparently the word comes from cater-corner. And since such expression is still used in Canada, hearing "catty" must sound really silly to Ruth. It last it wasn't "kitty-cornered".
Incidentally, it is apparently any non 90° angle. When you said "irregularly", I thought it also couldn't be 60°, 45° or 30°, as all of those are "regular" angles to me.

In yesterday's I didn't notice Ruth commenting on how dumb "catty-corner" sounds. I'd thought it was a more northern thing that'd be more likely to be known in Canada than southern or Western US.
Fresh-eyed movie blogTo paraphrase the immortal words of that famed philosopher Hannibal Smith: I love it when a plan falls apart.

I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Not the best result, but it might create some confusion if CWAM starts trying to spread gossip about those two.

Not that I really want it to happen, but still.
This was not something I expected to happen.
Oh really when?Becky for lesbian 2014
Read my stories! The next Slipshine thing has to be Joyce and Dorothy. HAS TO.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Joyce and Becky Perform a Slipshine
Also I think that Becky is a pretty good showing of the fact that fundamentalism religion or not, Joyce's uptightness is a unique-to-her trait.
Although we don't know if Becky is still deep in religious beliefs yet or not.
Read my stories!Yet, I still expect people to insist the whole point of DoA is to insult Christians.
But, yeah, I am also curious to see if Becky is still fundamentalist herself.

It's not even like Joyce is the only Christian in the entire story. There are more reasonable Christians in this story than there are people in Dumbing of Age who are my religion, which happens to be the 2nd largest religion in the world. Heck there are more reasonable Christians than ANY OTHER TYPE OF RELIGION in this story. Because we have 2 Atheists, 1 Jewish guy, and 1 Muslim.
People like seeing only what they want to see.
