Playing ADOM, I just found out that starting on (or at least with your computer clock set to) the maker's birthday gives a few bonuses. My roommate mentioned that Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast also had odd features if played on certain days (winter background for Christmas, etc.)

Are there other examples of this? Is this trope-able? Already troped?

Christmas Mode is what you're looking for.

Which badly needs a redirect, it looks like.

Team Fortress 2 gives you a badge based on when you joined the game, with different ranks based on major periods of time. Not quite the same thing, but pretty similar.

It makes my heart sad that I shall forever have to wear a mere bronze badge.

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.

Should the Christmas Mode page be divided into video game genres? If so, is anyone willing to work with me on this? I'm not familiar with a lot of these games. Is this the kind of discussion which belongs in the trope repair shop?

In Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin, you can buy Birthday Cake on whatever day you set as your Birthday on your DS.
