Just a ring and a caption?: Artifact Of Doom

There's no hint or clue to its "doominess". I think we can do better.

I'm going to say keep until we find something better.

Yeah, having not read or seen those books/movies, the ring is literally meaningless without some kind of context...

You can't even tell what ring it's supposed to be right away, until you click the hottip in the caption. Otherwise, it's a fairly well-known example even outside those who've read it.

While the One Ring is something that it would be unusual to not have heard about at all, recognizing it on sight is another matter.

Keep it. Like Star Wars, The Lord Of The Rings is a Work of Legend, so it gains instant notoriety.

I would like to see a replacement before pulling this one.

Maybe the same ring but more... doomy? This◊ or this◊ perhaps?

That second one would be an improvement.

Would it be better to have a two-panel pic of Frodo with the Ring, one right when he first gets it and one near the end of ROTK, when he's really under its influence?

I'd suggest a three-panell of Gollum as his human self, the ring and his CGI monster self.

I really don't want multiple panels for this one. Should be very easy to show in one.

The ring with the flames is better than the ring without the flames. Also probably better than the Mirari, although I'll throw it out there anyway.

I like the fire one. A better picture though would be of an artifact clearly causing some kind of doom, like something out of a roleplaying game sourcebook.

Then why not just use the first one from post 8? The lighting in the picture scream ominous even without the flames. In fact, I kinda prefer it to the second one anyway.

On a side note, where is the (c) in the first pic? I can't possibly find it :s

Ok, I totally brainfarted earlier. I thought the (c) was somewhere in the first image in post 8, I didn't even check the page image yet... -_-" Disregard that last post of mine entirely. Aside for the "I'm liking the second image of that post" part.

Ooh, I like that. Though maybe instead of the caption saying Smeagol, just say "Innocent."
