I like the idea of the alternating heat and cold in the device. Also, nice touch that Sciona and the vampire no longer have blood around their heads...
One also notes that another of Deus's hired guns is freelancing, Really, he might be smarter to put non-competition clauses into his contracts of employment.
= Spindriver =Chtilia, I presume? S/he's been around for a while now.
That or either Deus is either working with Sciona or has Cthilia planted as The Mole
he doesn't seem the type to not be aware of what his people do.
"You can reply to this Message!"Oh, you are right. And here I figured they'd licked themselves clean...
They wouldn't lick themselves clean - there will be time for a snack later, when they're not surrounded by deathtraps.
Also, maybe it's just me, but I really think Cthilia should have known better than to wear their best jacket.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. He's written as knowing what the word "chutzpah" means, isn't he just?
= Spindriver =An elaboration of artifacts and Deus implies that he could have gotten in there at any time.
Personally, I think there's probably a combination of him overselling his ability and maybe an implication of "I have legal access to this as a member of the Pax Monstera, but hey, I don't have to sign things out this way!"
Okay, I like the footnote here.
= Spindriver =I think his argument is more "Well, I'm already here so why pay for the ticket now?"

"You can reply to this Message!"That's how I read it too.
= Spindriver =And wow... either he's quite the bluffer, or he really does have a lot of power at his fingertips, as does Vale. Of course, given he's a sociopath, he probably would have an inflated idea of his capabilities, the whole "brain not properly processing risks versus rewards" thing.
And because it's too good not to share:

I don't think that Deus is a true sociopath, then. Or rather, he's a comic-book supervillain mastermind sociopath. He wouldn't have got where he is today if he wasn't really, really good at calculating risks vs. rewards. Remember, he can pass, to the financial press, as just a really successful businessman - and you can't pull enough of the impressive-but-legit moves to sustain that image if you can't manage risks competently.
And yes, I enjoyed the rant too.

= Spindriver =Sciona combines Loophole and Ally Abuse
"You can reply to this Message!"Wyrmil better have one hell of a healing factor if she plans to use that to get through the other barriers. Else Sciona might find herself suddenly short of allies.
Well, Sciona is only after the Epimorph. I can see her go "Well, hope you brought your own methods" to the rest of her team.
"You can reply to this Message!"New strip. Duelling paradigms.
= Spindriver =Heh. That's quite practical.
So Deus did all this to get Heavenly Sword a...new Sword.
I think Dabbler won't like that return duel.
"You can reply to this Message!"Deus brought a shopping trolley and a positive grove of bamboo plants. I think he’s getting some serious added resources from this.
= Spindriver =There is something to be said for a guy who doesn't forget what was one of the first tools mankind ever figured out how to use.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Good, old stick. Rarely let's you down.
New strip. Yeah, Asshole Victim.
