Yeah. I was wrong, but I don't care.
So great. Farewell, Stephen Colbert, the faux conservative who gave us "truthiness". We'll see you in your new digs next year.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"That's got to be the most spread out musical performance ever right? It had people on three different continents, two fictional worlds (Middle Earth and whatever the animated world was) and in space.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranThey were clearly building up The One With All The Answers to be God, so I of course thought it was going to be Ronald Reagan.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWhen does Stephen begin hosting the Late Show?
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationSeptember.
Re-watching the ending just makes me sad now. I hate that its over.
And I wanted a showdown with Elanor Holmes Norton.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I thought he was starting in May, since that's when Letterman's last show is.
Just checked out the virtual tour of the Colbert Report set.

Didn't there used to be an exit in the middle of the seating aisles?
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationTransition time. I recall that when Conan took over Tonight, they had something like six months to tear down Leno's set, design and build Conan's, and develop what their version of the show's writing would be. As well as possibly gathering new staff members, though a lot of them just follow the host from the last show.
Fresh-eyed movie blogRe-watching the finale..... it just occurred to me.... it's really weird that Steve Carell didn't show up for the musical number.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI reckon there's a lot of people who would have turned up if they could have but were either not in town or busy. They will have only had limited space for people to splice in pre-recorded stuff so went for big names, musically inclined people or funny people.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranThe animated thing was his fictional book/show, Tek Jansen, assuming I'm correct.
Last night's Late Show was unbelievably, agonizingly bittersweet.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Care to elaborate why for those of us who didn't get to see it?
Stephen, covering the RNC, said he didn't have the words to explain how Donald Trump ended up being the nominee, so he went to find someone who did. He travelled to a cabin in the forest, and Jon Stewart answered the door.
But that's not who he was there for.
Stephen asked Jon if he knew anyone who could help, and Jon said "I'll go get him," and came back with the Stephen Colbert character, wielding Captain America's shield, and Sting. Report!Colbert entered the studio on a chariot, to chants of "Stephen! Stephen!," addressed the audience as "Nation," used all the old graphics elements, and performed The Word.
And then Jon Stewart himself appeared on Thursday night's program in celebration of Roger Ailes' departure from Fox News.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"And then delivering a blistering condemnation of the GOP and the media. It was glorious!

but HOW?Watching Colbert's Showtime election special was a marvellously hypnotic experience you just couldn't look away from.
As the results of the election became clearer and clearer and the initially expected Clinton victory failed to manifest, the whole proceedings gained the timbre of a funeral. That was some of the most engaging TV I've seen in years.
I didn't expect him either. Hell, that was the best ending gag I've seen yet. Completely the opposite of that spoilered guess someone made a while ago.
