Ludum Dare

So, any tropers participating this time? I'm going to try it for the first time and probably fail horribly! I'll be using Processing, SA Ipaint and Audacity, maybe Ableton if I feel musical. So, any thoughts? People you are rooting for?

(Also, I think this is the right subforum, but if not I'll just move it.)

Aww, am I the only one ;_;

But, maybe for next time we should get a troper team together for the Ludum Dare Jam. We'd need a good few people, but might be good fun.

Hehe. Troper team. That's a good phrase. Troperteamtroperteamtroperteam.

[up] Hmm... Ludum Dare is flash right? Can we use flash engines too then?

Yeah, you can use whatever you want. The main point is all resources have to be created in the 48 hours, so that means graphics, sound, music. You can use libraries and code that's prepared beforehand, but the resources have to be made or obtained in that time.

[up] I see... What programming languages do you have experience in? I prefer Flash for this.

Never done anything like this before, but will be using processing and maaaaybe Java. Processing is based on Java, so the syntax is pretty much identical anyway. The part I'm worried about is art+sound! I plan on just setting a few hours of my LD time to go outside with a microphone, but may just have to settle for sfxr. So, are you participating, or just eyeing it up?

[up] Eyeing. But, maybe we can work together. Though, I have more experienced with using Adobe Flash combined with Flixel.

Sure! How will we cooperate, though? I'd still like to do an individual game, but we can have as many people as you want in the jam.

Hmm... Maybe via Google Docs, chat, or using Type With Me? And we'll have to decide who does coding, artwork, sounds, etc.

Necro!

Me and two friends from school will be doing the Jam this weekend. Another four friends have formed a separate team, because a seven-person is unmanageable and probably pushing the spirit of the event. tongue

We intend to use HTML 5 as our platform, since I have the most game-making experience of the group and most of that experience is in Javascript.

I attempted the Ludum Dare this time around; came in around an hour late, so I submitted to the Jam instead. linky for those interested; it's not going to win any awards though. tongue

I think we should make a Ludum Dare TV Tropes Page.
