If the specials so far haven't sucked I'm happy, as said there was never a good reason for the show to be so bad. You got ahead? Then make a side story till the comic catches up! There is no good reason to spend five minutes looking at scenery with no action only to skip to pointless crap another five minutes with scenery and no action, more pointless crap and then yet another five minutes before a five minute powerup, start of the fight and then "tune in next time".
If they've been good I'm happy but Toei making up stuff from scratch hardly guarantees anything decent. GT, the series with no comic to worry about getting ahead of, was the worst crap they crapped out, besides maybe the final Goku Jr movie.
