Theocracies tend to have some serious organizational issues. It is hard to juggle both political duties and spiritual affairs. Difficulties also arise when you cannot question your superiors for any personal failings as they hold both your fate, both temporal and spiritual, in their hands. You can't easily impeach of God's represenative on earth.

Consequently, the nation tends to become mired with corruption.
