Welcome the the new APB Reloaded Thread! The old one was dead and full of whining, so I'm making a new one, with a helpful newbie guide! Hooray!

First off, APB:R is a massively multiplayer third person shooter set in the fictional San Paro, currently caught in a war between the anarchist Criminal gangs, and the legalized vigilante Enforcers. Now, to the player guide!

Factions: Cops and Robbers

"Crims" Pros: Can make money by mugging Pedestrians, ram-raiding storefronts, and stealing cars. Can easily increase notoriety, gaining a multiplier to money and standing. Some mission objectives crim biased.

Cons: Can be "witnessed" by enforcers while on a crime spree. Less benefit from high notoriety than Enforcers. Loses notoriety quicker than Enforcers. Can be killed by ALL players at level 5 notoriety.

"Enforcers" Pros:Can witness crims, giving you a chance to take the money earned by the crim during their crime spree. Can return stolen cars for money. Better prestige multiplier than crims. Loses prestige slower than crims. Can only be killed by crims at level 5 prestige(enforcers that kill you lose all their prestige and gain nothing).

Cons: Slower money making than crims. Slower prestige gain than crims. Some missions biased against enforcers.

NOTE: Enforcers are outnumbered on basically every server by crims, so play enforcer if you want to be the underdog.

Weapons: Things that go BOOM There are too many weapons in the game for me to go in depth with all of them, and it's best for you to try them all for yourselves, but I will give some info on weapons I recommend, and warn against.

"Good" Star 556, and NTEC-5: The two assault rifles, the Star has better accuracy, but the NTEC does more damage but with higher recoil. You always have a permanent base Star, and it's a good multipurpose weapon.

Shotties and SM Gs: The close range run&gunners, and the second most seen weapons after the Assault Rifles. All four guns in this category are great, with differences mainly being in playstyle.

HVR: This games Sniper. Big, loud, and capable of killing any wounded opponent in one shot, two at full health. Great long-range support.

ALIG: Car-killing heavy machine gun. Practically essential to win some missions. Decent against people too.

Semi-Auto Rifles: Two great med-long range weapons in the Obeya and OBIR, and the Joker is very nice at mid-close combat.

"Bad" DMR-SD: Slower firing than an Obeya, less damage than an HVR, more recoil than an NTEC. Avoid like the plague.

SHAW: Supposed to be the people-killer to the ALI Gs car-killer, but doesn't do enough damage at a long enough range to be much use. May be good when modded out, but I've rarely seen it in action.

"Secondaries & Grenades" For secondaries pick something that compensates for the weakness of your primary, and pick whichever grenade you like best.

Cars: Things that go VROOM You can try out any pedestrian car in the game via jacking them from civilians driving around, so I'm not going to go into it. Try 'em for yourselves. I will give some info on the Faction Specific vehicles though.

"Crim Cars" Bishada Rapier: Fast Japanese-import coupe. High speed, decent handling, but made from glass. Good all-rounder, if you don't want to drive any friends. Charge Micro: Wee subcompact. Best handling car in the game by far. Also made of glass, and has no weight at all. Seiyo Espacio: Big ass van. Heavy, tough, and slow. Largest cargo capacity in the game, meant for extreme ram-raiding.

"Enforcermobiles" Patriot Jericho: Musclecar. Fastest thing in the game, but with lacklustre handling and a weak frame. Decent weight though.

Packer Vaquero: Bouncy 4x4. Nobody drives it, because it has crazy acceleration and wacky physics. Good for screwing around in, but damn near uncontrollable.

Nulander Pioneer: Huge SUV. Toughest thing in the game, decent speed, but the acceleration is crap.

Mods: Widgets and doodads

Sights: Hunting and Reflex is dependent on the weapon. Relfex for shotguns, SMGS, and other close range things, Hunting for anything you right click to shoot.

Barrel: Cooling Jacket for Shotties, SM Gs, and things with already good accuracy, Improved Rifleing is good if you find yourself fighting outside your weapons effective range a bit too often for comfort, and Heavy Barrel for anything with extreme recoil(NTE Cs, Heavy Machine Guns, etc.)

Magazine:Really depends on your playstyle, whether you want more ammo, faster reload, or more clips.

Etc: Three point swing is normally used as a space filler when you can't find a third mod you want, but is most often put in Sniper Rifles and H Eavy Machine Guns.

Helpful Hints!

The Social District is where you customize your car, clothes, appearance, and theme.

Focus on the contacts that unlock weapons first, these are much more helpful than cars in winning.

Don't be afraid to switch instances of the district you are in if you're getting your ass kicked. You can even bring your team with you!

USE VOICE CHAT. Seriously, coordination is the BIGGEST advantage you can have. Use the built in voicechat, or, because the built in one is crap, an external one like Teamspeak, Vent, or Skype.

There are hackers, and people so good they look like hackers, so a thick skin is required. If you do get angry, please use it to entertain your teammates instead of being a big jerk.(I'm sometimes a big jerk)

THIS IS A BETA. There are bugs, unbalanced matches, and missing content. Keep your moaning about the crappy aspects of this in the official forums where the devs can see and do something about it, because posting it here doesn't do crap.

That said, I'm Languray on JOKER(US East server)on the ENFORCERS. So if anybody wants to play, toss me a mail, I'll friend ya, and we can kill some crims together!
