Its already a redirect, it just needs to be swapped. I see no reason not to.
There's one problem with renaming this Shaky Cam: most people outside of this site use that phrase for Jitter Cam. I'd rather have an obscure trope name than a misleading one if we can't think up a new name.
I guessed that it's named about the director, but I would have never guessed what it's about.
Yeah, Shaky Cam is much better.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Shaky Cam is a standard term for Jitter Cam everywhere but here. The only reason the two are confused is because the original used both. Fast POV Cam would be closer to this trope. Or Camera As Monster.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Jitter cam is more commonly called "shaky cam" anyway, even in the industry.
POV Cam is probably a more apt name.
The Camera Is You is a sucktacular name but would also describe this better than Raimi Vision.

Shaky Cam looks to be a redirect for the wrong trope.
I agree that P.O.V. Cam would be a better title.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWe already have P.O.V. Cam.
she her hers hOI!!! i'm tempeShaky Cam is the normal term for a Jitter Cam. P.O.V. Cam is taken. There's a reason that this has wound up as Raimi Vision. Maybe High Speed POV Cam? At least that sounds somewhat clearer and isn't a pre-existing term for a completely different type of camera work.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe funny thing is that this article states that "shaky cam" is the normal name for this effect.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! It is the normal name, but Shaky Cam tends to mean Jitter Cam more than it means this.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickMaybe Shaky P.O.V. Cam? Because it really seems to be a combination of the two. Note that the P.O.V. Cam article has a mention of the combination for representing monsters, but doesn't mention this article (and attributes it to Buffy).
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. If this is a combination of Shaky Cam and P.O.V. Cam, does it need its own page?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! It is, because it doesn't quite play like either. It's a subtrope of both, but it's used in different situations and it is a very distinct visual impact on the film. It's fast moving, tends to wind through things, and conceals the rushing threat all at the same time. This helps it give an element of danger coming faster than it can be stopped.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickMonster POV Cam is about the clearest-sounding alternative I can come up with, all things considered.
Probably not, but I do agree that Shaky Cam should direct to Jitter Cam, if not be the name itself.

Well, pretty much any of the titles suggested above is better than the current name, Monster POV Cam being my current favorite.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! While the technique is used almost exclusively for monster POV shots, I don't think all monster POV shots use the technique.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. No, they don't. The high speed and the shakyness especially aren't the most common in shots from the monster's point of view.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWhat about Running Cam? Or Shaky Running Cam?
meepmeepmeep. What's wrong with Shaky P.O.V. Cam? Pretty much Exactly What It Says on the Tin? Perhaps with something referencing monsters as a redirect. (Monster Shaky Cam?)
The other distinguishing feature is that Raimi used it as a monster. It was more than just the POV, the camera was the monster in Evil Dead — you never get to actually see the monster, you just experience its point-of-view, so you can let your imagination run wild about what it really is. The camera technique has become strongly associated with this trick, so maybe Camera As Monster?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I do like Shaky P.O.V. Cam. Monster POV Cam or Camera As Monster etc. bring mind not only the shaky type but also a smoother type of Monster POV, e.g. stalking cat type monster.
Shaky P.O.V. Cam sounds fitting, considering it's a subtrope of both Shaky Cam and P.O.V. Cam.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! That's a valid point, but the technique is so strongly associated with Camera As Monster (which is pretty rare — most movies like to show their budget by showing you the monster) that I think that might be a reasonable redirect, even if it's not an ideal main name.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I noticed there's a page for MonsterVision, but it doesn't have any examples listed. It says compare to Raimi Vision, but by the (short) description it sounds like exactly the same thing. Should it be merged with this page?
Crown Description:
Raimi Vision
Well, I failed Guess The Trope big time on this one. Perhaps this Raimi guy is some kind of guru, and he can see the future? I'm actually having trouble thinking of any other sensible meaning for the name.
Well, anyway, this is a style of filming. While the trope is named after a director called Reimi, the style is actually called "Shaky Cam" even by said director himself. In other words, there is a clear pre-existing term for this, and we're using an obscure made-up term instead; and it's not even a pun, so we can't justify this one by Rule of Funny Trope Names.
Predictably, "Reimi vision" gets about 2000 google hits, whereas "shaky cam" gets over 650,000. Also, we have 70 wicks, 50 inbounds, so it's clearly not a healthy trope.
So, I suggest that we rename this to "shaky cam".
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
