Some might seem to apply to just one movie, but be sure they don't also apply to the expanded universe.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. That's not what I meant. Read my comment again.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The decision was made to split off the movies to alleviate the bloating of the main page. The main page tropes are still there for Star Wars as a franchise. If you see examples that belong to only one story (not just giving one example, but you're certain it is the only example in the franchise) then it should be moved to the appropriate page. But since all the tropes there are still relevant to Star Wars (used only once or not) there is just not a big concern over weeding it out.
You know, DQZ, if someone misunderstands a point you're making, it's far more helpful to restate the point than to just point out that they misunderstood you.
Anyway, yes, tropes that only appeared in one movie are supposed to be moved to that movie's individual page. Any tropes on the main Star Wars page ought to specify how they occurred in more than one movie.

I didn't write any of that. And the expanded universe. That's why I mentioned that in the first place (see, I'm explaining).

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The different movies already have their own pages anyway, so it's hard split. The main page should be for either things two different sub-works of Star Wars have in common (ie. two movies, two expanded universe works with their own pages, or what one movie has in common with an expanded universe work) or for things that apply to sub-works of Star Wars that don't yet have their own pages.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartWe have Star Wars Expanded Universe for "things two different sub-works of Star Wars have in common" and "things that apply to sub-works of Star Wars that don't yet have their own pages". But otherwise, I agree completely.
There is also nothing wrong with repeating tropes in the different sections, so long as they apply to the section they are listed in.
Never said there was.
Or just for simplicity, limit it to tropes universal to the series, or clearly in the majority of the works.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Seems like the agreement is to do the split. Should we just get to it, or do we need a full special efforts thread to figure out where everything goes?
Erm, they already are split. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] I don't understand what the concern is here, except that movie-specific tropes are creeping back into the general Star Wars article, in which case those can be cleaned without any need for discussion. Similarly, stuff that belongs in the Star Wars Expanded Universe should be moved.
These are not debate points; just do it. Unless the question is whether to give Star Wars a complete Example Sectionectomy.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"What do you mean split? There was a split a while ago. I think you mean take out the examples from just one work (again, there is more to the franchise than the films), either by moving or deleting.
I still say it would be easier to limit it to the universal tropes for the franchise.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I'm sorry, I meant limit it to universal franchise tropes. A lot of the examples on the page would be better on one of the subpages.
Then do it. You don't need to have a TRS vote. That's how the pages are supposed to be done.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Any further issues, or can this be locked?
I didn't write any of that.Don't see any. Lock this up, and we'll start cleaning the page.
Firstly, I'm not sure if this belongs on Trope Repair Shop, but I've seen other work pages that needed fixing on here, so...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the decision made to split up the Star Wars tropes to their own movies? There's still many tropes on the page, and while some that apply to the franchise as a whole might fit here, there's also a number that are specific to individual movies. Was the split called off or unfinished? And was the intention to move all tropes on the main Star Wars page, or just those specific to individual movies?
