The Endless Night (alternative title: Night VGA) is an adventure game that has some elements found in roleplaying games. It was published by Mythic Art Software and released in 1993. You play as a nameless character who does not remember anything. In fact, you will spend a portion of the game wandering through black screens. I am happy to tell you that I managed to beat this game after considerable effort. I had to carefully map my way as I went from one black screen to the next. Here's a hint: the town you need to reach in order to get a lantern is found in the centre of the map. Thankfully, the game becomes very straightforward after you get the lantern that lights (ha, ha!) things up.

Believe it or not, this game was supposed to be part 1 of a two-parter. As far as I know, part 2 has never, ever been created. From what I could find, it seems that the guy behind this game is named Andy Wood. Who knows where he is now?
