We need more pirate games. The only ones I can think of are Sid Meiers Pirates and the Pirates Of The Caribbean games.

Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I have a review copy. Will let you know what I think.
Jonah FalconSo far, my first impressions: it's cute, deliberately cute. The voice acting will make you crawl your ears in pain. The gameplay is solid and fun, especially for a $20 game.
Jonah FalconFunny, I thought the voice acting was definitely one of the high points of the game! I only tried the demo, but it gave me a nice impression from the get go. My enthusiasm started to waver with the clunky movements on the land maps and my personal dislike of running around when a simple menu would do just fine. Your character does certainly sound like a total dickhead from some posh area of Dublin or something, but you certainly can't fault them for having just the one voice actor. Just in the intro/tutorial I think I recall four different guys all with their distinct style. A very nice touch. The graphics of some of the characters reminded me of Don Maitz and his amazing pirates series (from an old CCG called Guardians) and that definitely tingled me the right way. There is humour too, which I suppose is trying to target the Monkey Island crowd? It didn't detract from the ambiance and felt appropriate to go with the graphical style and general atmosphere.
I wish I was more excited by the gameplay, especially since I would adore a game that recreated some of the fun I've had with Pirates of the Spanish Main and co (the miniature game), but alas I don't think this game is for me.
Still if you like Pirates, naval dogfighting and a bit of RTS, this might be a nice game for you :)
