Re: Exclamation's comments on the Norway shooting thread - Death threats would be the reason Ali left the Netherlands. Sure, only Theo van Gogh and... damn, that gay politician whose name I can't recall... were actually killed, but I think every European who drew insulting pictures of Mohammed is still in hiding. And you don't need a burqa to be a victim of abuse (not to mention honor killings), and Dutch officials seem to turn a blind eye to said crimes if they're culturally motivated.

OK. The topic is worthy of discussion. The way that the OP sets up the discussion and the subsequent replies are not. I am going to lock this thread and you get one redo. Preferably one that took a little time to develop and isn't guaranteed troll and flame bait.

There are a couple of dutch people in tvtropes, and it's been creeping into various other discussions... so why not have a thread where we can fight amongst ourselves about our politicians and their parties?
And of course answer questions people from abroad might have about them.
Just to light the fire... I think the Pvd A is a shameful excuse for a political party, they've sold out to the lowest common denominator and they're still trying to cling to a moral highground that no longer exists.
