So I just found out like right now that some people actually want marriage to be a part of Animal Crossing. There are a surprising amount of hoaxes involving getting married that the fans have been cooking up.

Well, I think marrying the villagers to each other would be a good idea. But some people actually want to marry themselves to a villager.

I don't really see the problem with the idea. Well, there might be a problem in that villagers live in separate houses from you, so what happens to their house when they marry you? Does their house disappear and they just use your house as their house now? I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how well that would work, y'know?
There's also the potential issue that Tomodachi Life (and, to an extent, Fire Emblem Awakening) presented with marriage, which is that Nintendo isn't exactly with the times when it comes to non-straight people existing. Personally I'd rather have no marriage feature than a non-inclusive marriage feature.

They said that they'll include LGBT relationships if Tomodachi gets another installment (it was a glitch, a convoluted one at that, not a real mechanic).
FE: Awakening lacked it for gameplay reasons (the children). Though I could see non-straight couples adopting children instead of actually giving birth if they want to revisit the idea...
