Apparently my emulator doesn't like to record more than 4GB video files.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.Heh. Shiva is easy as pie, with a Fire Rod. In the fire Ship now. I think there was a Moonring Blade here?
I have a message from another time...That awkward moment when you somehow make it most of the way through the Great Sea Trench before you realize that no, this is not where Leviathan is, it's not watery enough for him.
(you can tell I haven't done any of the tablet dungeons besides the Pyramid and Fork Tower since I had Time Mage two years ago)
someday we will foresee obstaclesFork Tower isn't a tablet dungeon. You're thinking of the island shrine.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.Ah, right. I forget which is which, since with most of my fiesta parties I haven't need more than 3 legendary weapons so I'm more concerned with getting the goodies in the dungeons than the tablets.
In other news, I took down Bahamut before he even had a chance to Megaflare. Chicken Knife Sword Dance + Air Knife-enhanced Syldra + Hero's Rime = total carnage.
someday we will foresee obstaclesBeen a while since any posts. How's progress?
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.I've been working for so many hours each day that I'm only just on my way to the second crystal. I'm off this week so I'll probably beat the game in a day or two.
The iOS version is really good when it comes to loading times for battles(the main reason I switched from my PSVITA).

I finished my second run last week. Probably won't do any more playthroughs unless I get really bored later in the summer, and my most recent party was so good anyway that any other party after it would just be a disappointment. :V
I also got my first Omega kill in a Fiesta run, through the power of Romeo's Ballad spam and Sword Dance.
someday we will foresee obstaclesI was on vacation the past week, so that is why I haven't been around. I did make some progress with my knight/monk/geomancer/ranger party though, and am now in the second world, near Quelb. I haven't had many problems with any of the bosses so far, though Purobolos was a very long and somewhat annoying battle.
Entirely too many chocobos!Once I am done with my summer semester, I will sign up for a random run.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.Yeeeessss! I got BERSERKER as my Water Job. I can finally do some damage!
Wow, someone is happy to have berserker? That's something I never thought I was see.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.4 White Mages have next to no damage output in the early game. It took me 30 min to beat Garula just because each of my fighters did something like 7 damage per hit(and took 99 damage from each hit).
Did you have the Flail from the ship graveyard? That would have given one of your mages a little more power.
The four white mage start is pretty much an exercise in "slow and steady wins the race," but having consistent healing and buffs plus Holy in the end more than makes up for it.
someday we will foresee obstaclesStarted a random run. Got white mage again... I'm contemplating on buying monk or black mage.
Edit: Huh, looking at the player's list on the FJF page, my victory log isn't on the list. Is that normal?

We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.I think that's just because the player's page system only shows your current or most recent run, so if you start a new run, you won't show up on the victory list again until your new victory is processed (and it'll still only be your current run's victory). You can still see the record of your old victory on your personal player page if you click on your twitter name on the player's page.
someday we will foresee obstaclesAh, you're right. Clicking my name shows the previous run.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.Well this is going on the "Video Game Lessons Learned The Hard Way" thread:
Watch who has the healing staff. I just healed Garula... twice.
And water job is monk. Great. :D
Edit: Got my fire job. It is thief... I might want a re-roll.

We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff. That's a rough draw. Good luck, if you end up keeping those jobs!
I am currently stuck in the Great Forest of Moore. Tried fighting the crystals twice now to no avail. May need to gain a few levels.
Entirely too many chocobos! After wandering around for a bit not quite knowing what to do, I somehow fought and defeated Gilgamesh and Enkidu with my Time Mage/Monk/Chemist/Bard party. The Bard isn't nearly as useless as I thought it would be. Romeo's Ballad (a song that forces all enemies to Stop) makes almost all regular random encounters easy-modo.

I hope you get tiny bits of eggshell in all your omelettes for the rest of your life! And when Romeo's Ballad stops being effective in most random encounters, Alluring Air should allow you to confuse your way through random encounters all the way through the final dungeon. Also Requiem will help you blaze through everything in the Pyramid and Great Sea Trench, where the majority of enemies are undead. Between that and the stat-boosting songs, Bard is among the best support units in the game, especially towards the end.
Chemist can do some ridiculously broken stuff too with the right materials, and Time Mage is a very solid class, so you should be set up pretty well for the rest of the game.
someday we will foresee obstaclesAlso, having bard pretty much sets you up for killing Omega due to it being susceptible to stop.
Anyway, I have just beaten Byblos. I was level 14 when I started the library. I was level 21 when I killed him. That fucker would not let up on using drain when he got below 1000 HP. Also, it doesn't help when he discords my level to the point where I deal 2 damage on average.

We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff. So I got my final class. Current run: Monk, Thief, White Mage, and Red Mage. Yes, yes, those are all classic job, but I am doing a random run.
Anyway, I now have good offensive magic and I can now 750 all day everyday. :D
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff. Also Dualcast + White is pretty godly endgame. Double Holy, double Arise, double Shell/Protect... Of course, it means you'll have to jump on the tossing-Gold-Needles-at-statues grinding train, but it's more than worth it.
someday we will foresee obstacles
Might be worth it, especially if you haven't gotten some of the Fire/Earth jobs since random runs have a better chance of giving you Wind/Water jobs.
The only crystal that I've had all the jobs for is the Water Crystal. Still missing Black Mage and Knight from Wind, Ranger and Beastmaster from Fire, and Chemist, Dragoon and Samurai from Earth (Gilgabot just loves giving me Dancer). I find that with most jobs I don't mind getting them again as long as they're in generally different combinations from the other times I've had them.
