Shrens are not the most well-adjusted bunch in the universe.
Perpetual torture during the formative years combined with nigh-complete ostracization would do that to a person.
Also: It's not both the shrens. Theedy's just sort of depressed, which...she grew up disabled, and now it looks like her child's going to. Considering what it did to Theedy's life...I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect the restraint necessary to still be obviously grateful to Rhysel. And the same thing has to be running through her husband's head, which makes his reaction more reasonable, if not more rational.

Blog; tumblr& fair enough.
How many parts Summons and chapters will have?
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. If I stick to my outline as it looks now, Summons will have 26 chapters. Plus or minus a chapter as I am unfaithful to my outline.
So ~3 weeks? Wow, it doesn't feel like it's been that long.
Will there be brief hiatuses between books, as with Luminosity/Radiance?

All Cretans are liars.—Epimenides the CretanProbably. I don't have a Blood outline yet - I mean, I know what happens, but some of it overlaps with the Summons timeline, so I don't want to start until I have dates all pinned down for Summons events.
I guess Rhysel is not familiar with newspapers at all? Otherwise it's hard to see how she could be so naive as to mention the word "boyfriend" in company of a reporter.

Oh noooooo! Need next chapter now! :O
=O
Gah! Why Elcenia isn't updated on M-W-F???
So, it is against the rules if a teacher dates another teacher? I am pretty sure it is mentioned, but I don't remember >.<
I wonder if the reporter would find out that Teekal works in the play.

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. There is no explicit rule against, but Tekaal called it "unprofessional" (though that may just be him being himself), and it's certainly not something he'd like to read in the newspaper about (not that anything from his private life would be).
What happened to asking Revenn for advice on Mirra? Is that postponed indefinitely just because Rhysel wants to be present when they cast Speak With Dead?
I think Rhysel figured out from Tekaal's reactions that she ought not mention 'abuse' to anyone else. But the teacher dating teacher thing will definitely be in there. Which will, of course, thoroughly humiliate Tekaal.
Is it bad that I'm sort of wickedly amused by how embarrassed he'll be?
All Cretans are liars.—Epimenides the CretanRhysel mentioned how her power activated, but I do think that she would have enough presence of mind to try not defend her father's actions, but we have to wait and see.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.I need a scene where that gossipy student comments about the newspaper.
Bonus points if Tekaal acting is revealed too.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.I am sorry >.<
I mean, if they find out that Teekal is an actor too.
also, Alicorn, do you have a list of animals/monsters that live in Barashi and Elcenia, not a full one, but roughly, the ones that you though, for example: Pegasi, do they exist in any of the two worlds?
EDIT: can White Shren fly better in a non-dragon shape?
can violet thudias breath underwater?

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Me and Blue were discussing what sort of Elcenia/Barashi character that we would like to play in an RPG. It was mostly just us making up characters for fun, not that we are actually planning an RPG.
ANYWAY. I made a Black Shren Kamai, specializing in Death Kamai, that grew up in Barashi- after she was abandoned why her dragon parents are a Shren House in Elcenia, they sent her and a bunch of other shrens to Barashi to live without the stigma of being a Shren. She has a Malterian human form, as well as a Crow form- though that can be changed if their aren't any such creatures in Barashi- and a Merfolk form.
Very cliche looks and magic wise- black/death/crows. : Though I would have her being very chipper and nice.
Blue can tell you his!!

I was thinking in a Vampire Thudia not sure what kind of magic he would possess, but probably Wizardry or any other "regular" Elcenia's magic.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. Some critter discrepancies:
Both worlds have quartets of element-associated birds. In Elcenia it's firebirds, currenters, dustbeaks, and stratus-chasers; in Barashi it's phoenixes, snowhawks, kiersas, and rocs. (Elcenia has classical element birds, Barashi has hot/cold and ocean/sky). Neither world has pegasi or unicorns, although Elcenia has myths about the latter (cloven-hooved kind only). Elcenia doesn't have any perissodactylans at all (no horses, no zebras, no tapirs). Elcenia doesn't have mangoes. Barashi doesn't have cocoa. A lot of witchily useful plants like sootheweed in Elcenia don't exist on Earth or Barashi. Barashi has kiri peppers, which don't exist on Earth or Elcenia. Elcenia doesn't have dogs (they have "stupid-wolves", as the wolfriders call them, but never domesticated them). Barashi doesn't have drakes. There's a cactus in Elcenia called raan used to produce fiber for fabric that Earth and Barashi don't have. Elcenia doesn't have bamboo or anything that only eats bamboo, like pandas. Specific domesticated strains of things like rice and apples and whatnot are different, even though rice and apples and similar exist in both worlds. Elcenia doesn't have platypuses or any other monotremes. Barashi doesn't have lemmings. Barashi doesn't have aurum-doves. Crows/corvids exist in both worlds. That's all I can think of off the top of my head, besides the sapients.
White-group dragon powers don't apply to non-native forms unless they're unusuals or uniques, which shrens never are. So no, white-group shrens just get extra screwed.
Violet thudias are usually half-merfolk, so, yes, most of them can. A half-violet-group-dragon half-something-that-can't-breathe-underwater could not breathe underwater in either form, though.

You made a black shren kama. "Kamai" refers to the magic itself. A kama does kamai, and if you have more than one kama then they are a group of kyma.
The notion of an Elcenia RPG delights me to no end, because of Elcenia's origins. It's deliciously meta.

"But I have these questions now and I'll only have more after I see more kamai, so -"My co-creator and I considered setting up some kind of RP, but the trouble is it would be unbalanceable. The power differentials are wild.
She stil alive when the alternative was death, that in top of the fact that Rhysel helped them out that much, hell she is trying to figure out a solution for the troubles of the shren-kind even though they are kind of a pariah for the rest of the world... I understand that they might be dissapointed, but they are being quite ungrateful too.
