Or the Greece of the Persian Wars. I mean, that's the origin of Bayek's hidden blade...
If were getting the Trojan War then I hope we'll be bros with Achilles.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."From this site, the design seems to be based on Corinthian helmets.

Optimism is a duty.Like that means anything. AC:O Had anachronistic swords aplenty. Khopesh in Ptolemaic Egypt?
Well, Corinth and Athens were at the centre of the Peloponnesian War, which, if you had to pick any conflict from Ancient Greece, would probably be the one to go for.
The time of Alexander the Great would also be a good option. Origins did make a big point of referencing him, after all.

Optimism is a duty.Does anyone knows name of soundtrack that plays during Smoke over water side quest in Assassin's creed Origins, when you fight in a burned village?
I literally just finished that quest and I still don't know the name.
Anyway, I got this a few days ago, loving it. Not having much trouble running into overpowered enemies, maybe because I'm good about doing all the quests in an area before moving on. I think my favorite part of the story so far is that Aya didn't die with Bayek's son. It's so common for both a wife and child to get killed for manpain that it completely caught me off guard that she hadn't been. I seriously spent the entire prologue wondering when Bayek's wife got murdered, since it didn't happen onscreen, and then he started kissing a seemingly random woman. (now watch her get damseled and fridged later in the game)
I just finished up the Hyena. Kinda annoyed that Bayek didn't comment on the big holographic Apocalyptic Log that plays if you touch the obelisk. Not so much as a word. I mean, I know he's religious so he probably assumed it was just something to do with the gods (which it is, sort of), but you'd think he'd say something.
As I understand it, we can hear it but Bayek can't.
He's 100% Muggle.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. He's not, since his Eagle Vision is a version of the one Connor's daughter has.
Then how did we see it at all? Unless you're saying that muggles can see Precursor stuff, they just don't actually notice it? Then Layla was able to properly notice it while going through his memories?
I think the Animus must give a more thorough "view" of the genetic memory than your built-in brain can. That's why in the Animus you can see through walls and can freeze time to observe stuff, and can even deviate from established history to experiment with "what could have happened" until you desync.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youSo, Ancient Grece...
Does this mean we might finally explore the possibility of a gay or bisexual protagonist???
Not only does Aya survive, she becomes a legendary Assassin in her own right (she changes her name at some point, which should sound familiar to you when you remember the vault in Monteriggioni).
Here is an article on the new game.
The helmet "sort of resembles" that of king Leonidas I, who was a warrior king of Sparta around 480 BC. This puts the setting as around the Battle of Thermopylae, which means we could also be seeing the likes of Xerxes I of Persia.

Optimism is a duty. The Assassins had to adopt the hidden blade as not all of them could master the Assassin KICK.
I find it immensely funny that it seems like Assassin's Creed Origins is preceeded by a game that takes place prior to said origin.
Fuck, we even joked about it prior to ACO in this thread, that we'd get "Assassins Creed: Pre Origin"
Does this mean we might finally explore the possibility of a gay or bisexual protagonist???
Jacob Frye is canonically bi.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. So yeah, seeing two possibility for this: A) Persian Wars, for the origin of the Hidden Blade.
B) Somewhere around Alexander the Great, to follow the Staff of Eden from ACO (Which vanishes mid-game).
I'm guessing it'll be Greece during the first century AD
Secret SignatureI'd doubt it. It's not impossible if they want to follow on Aya and Bayek, but it's frankly not the time period people really think of when "Ancient Greece" comes up. And Asscreed tends to prefer big, iconic time periods. Greece in its 2nd century of Roman domination isn't exactly the most interesting time period.

Most people tend to not imagine Hellenistic Egypt as their first choice either.
Secret SignatureQuite the opposite. Cleopatra is the most well known Egyptian ruler to the common person. That the game takes place during her reign is a very deliberate choice. That they could include Caesar was a bonus.
"The game with Cleopatra and Caesar" is a way better sell than "The game with Menkauhor Kaiu" even though the later is more "classic" Ancient Egypt.

It could be one of those time jumping plots - so you have the modern day plot, then maybe a Bayek / Aya contemporary, who then experiences the memories of a prior ancestor (Like they seemed to hint at with Revelations but didn't deliver on?)
INCEPTION....
Also, with dialogue choices, is this perhaps the way they're implying that the Animus can ALTER events now, once they work out the simulation code for reality... like the apocalyptic logs indicated
I feel they should never have been so definitive with the "origins of the assassins" thing. It just gives them a barrier in ancient history they now have to write around.
Or they have to come up with an entirely new proto-assassins faction. They did so with the templars.

Optimism is a duty.
How "ancient" is ancient? There's pre and post Roman Empire, and even pre Romans, that is a BIG period to pick from.
Can anyone perhaps give a date based on that helmet design on the key chain?
Odyssey... is this going to be THAT ancient Greece? The Greece of the Trojan War?
