Agreed. Desmond was boring, but he was salvageable. I found him the most interesting in 3 where the entire title could have been "Assassin's Creed III: DESMOND ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING (FINALLY)".
The IRL plot of IV was just boring. You're only contribution is giving Shawn and Rebecca some random ass files. Sure, I suppose you catch the semi-romantic/??? attention of A reborn deity?, but you aren't even the one to take him out and Juno just randomly decides to spare you for... why???
I felt very confused leaving that scene where Juno was revealed because... nothing happened. I walking in, Juno revealed herself, IT screamed on the intercoms, and then I guess I drolly and uncaringly walked back to my room to sleep???
However, No, the Game Informer Article DID NOT say that we were playing R-L from IV. It said that the player was still in the jump seat as the PC and that was it.
And, I do agree with the criticisms that Player!P Cs tend to get too vague at times. Characters jump through hoops to never mention your name or other specific details (i.e. Maybe you look incredibly unattractive to them or etc). Bioware is probably the best at avoiding this since you either have a predetermined family name, which isn't unheard of for friends to call you by your last name, or your Rank in some Organization, which also isn't unheard of at all.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.I have way more personality than Desmond. ^^ me for protagonist!
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenI actually liked Desmond. At least after Revelations.
You know...now that I think about it, you guys remember how Connor said that Monmouth was the last "victory" he would give Washington?
When you think about it, Connor barely helped in the Revolution.
Didn't he win them a couple major historical battles?
The Assassins as a whole were helping out quite a bit throughout the Revolution.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Yeah, he held the line at Monmouth for a bit but aside from stopping Washington from being assassinated he barely did anything. And him being there put Washington in the perfect position to be assassinated!
Connor led troops at the battle of Concord, and assassinated Pitcairn at Bunker Hill.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Neither one of which was a major accomplishment considering that the former the colonials probably would have won anyway (what was even the objective there? Wait for reinforcements? It would have been better to harass the redcoats in the woods) and the latter they still lost regardless of Pitcairn's death.
Don't forget, we're also looking at it in hindsight now that History has been recorded. Also, Connor is making himself to be a massive asset to Washington, regardless of the validity of the statement.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.IIRC, a lot of the Assassin contracts had Connor's recruits assisting the rebels in various way, though mostly as a tangent to combating the Templars.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyA game tester has leaked some information related to AC Unity. Look away if you don't want possible spoilers.
Geez, someone's never getting hired as a game tester again.
I want to see Elise in action! The trailer had me going "Awww yasss!" when Elise and Arno are standing back to back with swords out...but then it ended.

I see Shao Jun.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. This is way after Embers, though O.o
They also have Altair. It looks like there's a mission for dozens of different time periods. I'm thinking this is probably Ubisoft's new way to tease and try out different settings quickly and see what sticks.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing. One of them is Edward, with the title "Devils of the Carribean."
It's entirely possible that this is all more Abstergo trailer stuff like in IV. You know, the thing with Edward and "Devils of the Caribbean."

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyElise is probably going to die. Furthermore, Arno is probably going to be the one to kill her.
Actually, I'd like to see Arno die at the end, and have that death inspire Elise to join the Assassins. Kind of like what happened in Black Flag (kind of).
The Dwemer actually transported themselves to Earth, where they became known as The Ones Who Came Before. Dat armor, dead giveaway.
Thankfully, only by two weeks. It now comes out the same day as Rogue.
Assassin's Creed meets Ghost Rider
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.AC: Unity AND Dragon Age so close to each other. Oh man... There goes, like, all of my free time not doing homework.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.
All the complaints about Desmond were that he was a bland character whose parts in the game added nothing to the storyline. (Which I disagree with, but that's besides the point.)
Rather than attempt to fix that, they went in the exact opposite direction! An AFGNCAAP is more than bland, they're a blank slate. And the only thing you actually accomplish is getting Shawn and Rebecca a bunch of Abstergo files. That's the total sum of your contribution to the plot.
Your nameless playtester contributes more in the multiplayer than they do in the actual story, since there you're at least compiling emails about Juno hiding in the system.
