As I said in the other topic, I am a little disappointed that it looks like everything in it will be a rhythm game, though, so it looks like there'll be few, if any, RPG elements. I did like the segments that had footage (maybe redone, but it's similar enough that I couldn't really tell) from the original games, though.
Welcome to th:|Such as the ball, and the knocking down of Garland?
:smug:Yeah. Although I wonder how they'll manage FFXIII, since I doubt its level of graphics would really be possible on the 3DS...I guess there could be an FMV in the background while there was still gameplay going on, like FFVIII did, but I'm not 100% sure.
Welcome to th:|Beorc: Really? This is an FF game, it would be a sin to not have a level up system at the very least.
Those segments were certainly interesting. What will they do for earlier games though? Will they just reuse, say, the FM Vs from that one 6 remake on the PS?
Gotta love some of the Youtube Comments on that trailer:
Uncreative Game Designer: Let's take the songs from our premier Final Fantasy series and turn it into a Rhythm Game!
SE CEO: .................Amazing.
There's a Final Fantasy racing game. There's a Final Fantasy card game. There's a DS Final Fantasy game based off of aesops and fairy tales. There's a Final Fantasy fighting game. If anything, it's really weird that there isn't a Final Fantasy rhythm game yet, especially considering the quality of the music.
Not Three Laws compliant. What are the first two?
The first one is Chocobo Racing.
"badass" doesn't anything in after used end fail be fine.Sorry, board game. The last game Square released for a Nintendo console before Crystal Chronicles was Chocobo Land: A Game of Dice on the GBA, which was admittedly exclusive to Japan.
I guess if Theatrhythm was a Chocobo game, no one would really care, because the Chocobo spinoffs get all the different genres.

Not Three Laws compliant.Never heard of it. Is that good or bad?
I actually tried it years ago. I couldn't figure it out since I don't speak Japanese. It seemed like Mario Party actually. A very basic version.

Some more gameplay footage. That song at 1:16 or so looks incredibly difficult...

Welcome to th:|It's not "That song", it's "The Decisive Battle".

Eh.
Welcome to th:|That's what she said. About your incomplete knowledge of classic FF tunes.
Well, I recognized the song, but it's not something I particularly care for...that and I don't care enough to identify all those similarly named FF battle themes.
Welcome to th:|Hmmm...from the third screenshot here, it looks like there will be some RPG mechanics, but I wonder how they'll affect a rhythm game...

Welcome to th:|I don't see how that screenshot shows it.
now, the screenshot showing Tidus being selected, complete with level, that shows it.
I have a message from another time...Uh...are you talking about the third screenshot? That's the one I was talking about. It's not possible to link to the specific screenshot, as far as I know, though.
Welcome to th:|? I don't recall Tidus being female
Or wearing red.
Screenshot from a video, screenshot from a video. I thought his link only had one screencap in it, I was referring to something else entirely.
I have a message from another time...I might actually get this.
There was a (Japan-only) Taiko No Tatsujin game for the DS which had a RPG mode and it was pretty fun, and music is traditionally one of the stronger points of FF games.

My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]Beorc: Just a guess, but if you screw up you lose HP and leveling up raises that. There might also be certain stages that you can't access until you're sufficient level.
Wow, this actually looks like it would turn out good!
I was so worried they would screw this up but if it plays the way it looks like it will this could be a very fun and challenging blend of RPG and rhythm game.
