Geez, poor Aisha. First her lover, then her cousin gets corrupted and now she finds out about her extend family being turned into (basically) zombie fish.

Oyi. What is this, RAI's sick way of breaking the cutie?

Aisha seems to be the one that suffers the most. When she was a kid she had a severely restrictive lifestyle which she hated. In season 2 she ran away from home and suffered as Darkar's prisoner. In season 3 she was almost forced into an arranged marriage and her planet was almost destroyed. In season 4 Nabu died. In season 5 her extended family either turns evil or is brainwashed. Even Musa hasn't had to go through that much.

Episode 16. Things are actually looking up now.

Icy recovered fast. Tritannus still needs to run away all the time. Good to see Nereus and Tressa back to normal. Aisha should keep that sword though. She'd make far better use of it. I'm not certain that Darcy and Stormy joined back with Icy and Tritannus, though they probably did so off-screen.

Luna and Radius still can't get along. At least this is a better arc for Stella than the fashion thing. Radius seems more bitter, but Luna got angry pretty quickly too. Stella seems way out of her league here. She really should consult Amore on this for advice.

I've given up trying to figure out what is up with Diaspro. First she's a princess of Eraklyon and engaged to Sky, then the engagement is broken up, then she brainwashes Sky, gets found out, and is exiled from Eraklyon. I can buy that she managed to blame Valtor for everything and got a pardon, but it's still stupid that nobody is bringing it up. Why is Erendor trusting her with this when she's hurt him in the past? At least Samara saw that it was a stupid idea. Diaspro herself still seems to pine for Sky, but it doesn't look like she'll do anything too drastic. I do like her new clothes. The part where she picked up Sky was really similar to the part in the first movie where Sky was picked up by that woman.

I guess Tritannus has graduated from being a nuisance that nobody cares about to actual threat. I'm guessing that Oritel is the reason everyone is able to cooperate better than they did with Valtor. A meeting of the realms should be interesting at least. Hopefully we'll get to see Galatea's and Crystal's families. Maybe we'll even see Zenith's royal family, which might finally confirm Tecna's princess status.

More Sirenix training. Training is important sure, but they should be focusing on finding Tritannus more since they can already beat him.

Two good episodes in a row. This season might be recovering after all. Next episode doesn't look impressive though. Oh look, they're looking for more stuff. And Tritannus is creating another pollution monster. How exciting.

On another note, I'm hearing rumors that Straffi is considering a live-action movie of Winx. Terrible idea, or horrible idea that would kill the franchise?

Horrible idea.

It wouldn't kill the franchise because the entire target audience (and probably us) would go see it, making it popular enough to get a sequel and six more seasons greenlit sad

I finally saw episode 14 for myself, it was really dissapointing. The CG models are terrible actors and for some reason Keke Palmer was off her game so Aisha's reaction came off as very cheap.

Yes! I was hoping Stella's parents wouldn't get back together and that would get her to grow up (also because that doesn't just happen anyways like in most movies/TV shows). This entire childish/selfish act is getting annoying fast.

Also episode 17 preview: Another search quest already and then a monster of the week?

Episode 17. Pretty uneventful, but there were some good things there.

Tritannus confirmed for being a threat not because he's dangerous, but because he's causing a lot of destruction by accident. Even if he gets the Emperor's Throne working, he probably can't use it very well. Why Icy likes him I have no idea. Maybe because he respects her. Darcy and Stormy are looking out for themselves now. It's nice that they still care about Icy.

Another search quest. At least this one was quick. Aisha's Sirenix guardian was useful for once.

I like how Filla probably could have given Tritannus a good fight without Icy. I take any opportunity to laugh at him. Interesting that they have a colony on Earth already. Too bad Filla's defends squad was worthless.

Giant trash monster was giant. Why was reflecting its attacks more effective anyway? Or was the lesson supposed to be to beat Tritannus, they need to shoot him with pollution. Then shoot Icy with ice.

The Winx should concentrate on finding that big throne. Find that, and they've got Tritannus. Daphne should have tried to give Bloom her location. Or maybe she can't.

This episode wasn't bad or great. Next episode looks interesting. Not Tritannus's monster. The meeting of the realms. I definitely saw Crystal there. I think I saw Galatea. And I think I saw someone who might be the king of Zenith. I hope so. Either way, it's time for the Winx to dive into a bigger nightmare then they've ever faced before, politics.

Edit: Just realized something important for next episode. The Sovereign Council is a meeting of the realms in order to deal with Tritannus. After Andros, which planet has been most affected by him? Earth. Nebula, or at least a representative, should be there since Earth is where Tritannus is getting his power from. Sure she's probably busy with stuff, but this is a good chance for Earth to get reaquainted with the rest of the Magic Dimension. After all of season 4 was spent getting magic back to Earth, I'm going to be very irritated if Earth doesn't get a say in this at all. And Bloom doesn't count.

Episode 18. Things are looking up again.

It's fun to see our princesses mention politics. Stella seems to be the only one ready to do it. Speaking of politics, I think we have our final, 100% confirmation that Tecna is not a princess. We've known that already, but it's good for that to finally be confirmed.

The council isn't going to work out real well if they can't even get 10 planets. Domino, Solaria, Andros, Eraklyon, Zenith, Melody, and Linphea are not the entire Magic Dimension. Off the top of my head they're missing Magix, Earth, Esperro, Oppositus, and Chill. On that note, we've finally seen another person from Zenith. The king of Zenith has some neat armor. Galatea's father is a little overweight. Crystal's mother doesn't seem very noteworthy. Nebula not being there really sucks.

Now we can see why the rest of the Magic Dimension didn't help stop the Trix invasion in season 1 or Valtor's rampage in season 3. They're all isolationist, all thinking that they can handle their own problems. We've already seen Solaria and and Eraklyon fail at doing that, so Erendor at least is just an idiot. Radius is too, but at least he's willing to listen to Stella. Zenith's king seems confident that they can handle whatever comes there way. Since we haven't seen that planet suffer a major crisis, we can't say for sure. I'll let Oritel's comment about Tritannus being the biggest threat since the Ancestral Witches slide since he wasn't around for Valtor. That wouldn't be an issue if Magical Adventure had happened yet, but it might not have.

Nice to see Codatorta again. The training was okay, nothing special there. Not sure why they thought feeding it flower would work. Musa's comment about Flora being delirious about the mustache was good. Musa and Riven still seem to have relationship problems.

Tecna's Selkie was cool, leading the other two and planning how to avoid the Devourer. It really wasn't that unstoppable, considering how Flora, Musa, and Tecna could easily knock it around without being touched.

Bloom and Sky have no business sneaking off like that during an important meeting. Erendor and Diaspro have every right to call Sky back. Bloom should be busy telling everyone how "dangeous" Tritannus is. I don't support Diaspro/Sky, mostly because they have no chemistry, but it's still amusing to see the two girls squabble over the moron. Bloom is taking advantage of her higher position over Diaspro. At this point Diaspro might do something, but it's not definite. I hope she is able to stick around for future seasons and doesn't suddenly become evil again.

It's amusing how Zenith is the only planet without a princess there. Maybe they don't have one. Right now, Domino, Andros, and Solaria are ready to join together. Assuming Sky can convince Erendor to join in, that leaves Melody, Linphea, and Zenith. Melody and Linphea seem neutral so far. Theoretically Musa could ask Galatea to convince her dad to join the alliance. Same with Flora for Crystal. Zenith is the hard one, unless Tecna knows the king. Most likely Bloom is going to give a big speech convincing everyone to join in. If the Council does form, I hope it lasts into future seasons.

This episode continues the trend of the second half being better than the first half. I wonder where Brandon was anyway. Next episode I have nothing to say about. Tritannus has a head start to the Pillar of Balance, but the Winx know where it is, so either side could get there first.

There is already Winx Live, which includes appearances using actors to portray the girls: TV/Commercials/Stage plays/Concerts/On ice. I am not sure how a live-action movie would be a franchise killer when they already done things that people would consider franchise killers. I would see it as an expansion of the Winx Live promotions.

Two episodes aired this week. First off, episode 19.

Erendor is a giant idiot. Why does he think Tritannus won't hit the other pillars? And how does he plan to defend Eraklyon if it's vulnerable due to the Infinite Ocean, which no one on his planet can get to? At least the Lynphea queen was rational. Still don't care much about the Bloom/Sky/Diaspro stuff. That's also Erendor's fault, come to think of it.

There is a complete lack of trust between Musa and Riven. They really should've stayed broken up in season 4. Riven is obviously asking that girl for advice on something for Musa.

Bloom is being an idiot about Sky again. So far Bloom, Stella, and Musa have all been stupid with their love interests. Flora kept her jealousy under control. Tecna doesn't seem to have any issues with Timmy. Aisha well, her life sucks.

Nice to see Musa's father again. Good to know they haven't forgotten he existed. Now if only we could see the parents of a couple of other fairies.

Darcy decides to remind Icy that they're a team. Stormy isn't happy about abandoning Icy, but whatever works. Tritannus and Icy never noticed that they left.

Nice to see the Winx planning an ambush. Icy went down really easily, which is to be expected. Tritannus got his ass kicked, literally, which is also to be expected. Bloom kicking away his trident was cool. Too bad Aisha got cocky with the trident. Darcy and Stormy rode on singing whales to save the day. I swear, those two almost felt like the heroes, with how Tritannus and Icy were completely outmatched.

I'll be back soon to comment on episode 20.

Episode 20 was less good.

Funny how Darcy and Stormy have come the closest to beating the Winx since the Winx lost Believix. Too bad Tritannus and Icy were too dumb to just shoot the Winx while they were immobilized. Icy is getting really annoying. Darcy and Stormy deserve better. Musa's song was nice I guess. Tritannus and Icy won't admit it, but their plan once again consists of, running away.

Nice to see Musa and her father reminisce about Musa's mom. Interesting that Musa considered bringing her back to life. At the very least, they think the wishes can bring back the dead. Also, about time the wishes were brought up again.

Stella is still an idiot who can't take any criticism. Flora is going to suffer a lot as Stella's muse. Musa still doesn't trust Riven. Tecna trusts Timmy a lot. Aisha and Musa do have a point that it'd good for them to have a face-to-face conversation. They haven't talked much since they got back to Magix.

Bloom is still being an idiot. No, her made-up concerns about Sky are not more important an important meeting in the middle of a crisis. How she's going to handle being queen I have no idea. At least she admitted the problem was her, not Diaspro. Diaspro is doing a terrible job of getting in Bloom's and Sky's way. Samara seems to be nicer to Sky, and recognizes that he can't be on duty 100% of the time.

No, the Winx don't need more training. They can already take out Tritannus and the Trix without too much difficulty. They should be concentrating on finding the Emperor's Throne. And if they do need to train, getting to know the natural world seems to be a low priority. Sirenix training should be in the water where its talents truly shine. All the training so far has been with stuff that isn't Sirenix specific.

Stella is getting worse and worse. Which is a pity seeing how she's my second favorite of the group. If she keeps this up, Aisha might take her place. I wish we got Tecna's thoughts on the nature place, since her experiences with that is probably more limited. Oh hey, Flora got in trouble again. And had to be rescued from a creature again. She really can't catch a break this season.

Tritannus still can't handle the Throne's power. Maybe he'll find a better spot to refuel now that garbage island is gone. Darcy and Stormy have had enough. Darcy's plan seems to be let Tritannus complete the Emperor's Throne, then get rid of him and hope Icy goes with who has the power. My guess of what will happen is that Darcy and Stormy launch their coup, fail, but it will give the Winx the opportunity to beat Tritannus. I hope they succeed though, and that Darcy and Stormy become the final enemies this season.

So these two episodes were lousy with the relationship stuff, but were otherwise decent. Next episode Tecna shall finally get some screentime. Maybe it will be her first proper focus episode since season two. Hopefully their date won't mess up too badly. Do the Winx need Tecna? She's necessary for the pre-battle stuff, but they can handle Tritannus without her. So the Winx will have to mess up somehow in order to let Tecna save the day.

MY review is all over the place, sorry.

  • Relationships
Hmm to contradict one of your comments. I actually like that the girls can get into hero-mode quickly even when their social life is shaky. I haven't watched all the episodes of previous seasons, but it seems the girls know when to put others first when it comes to a crisis.

Anyway. The impression I am getting with Icy to Tritannus, is that she found someone her own age to love. While previous bad guys were either older or just not interested in her. As dopey as these two have been, they appear to generally care about one another. Too bad this causes a rift with the Trix as a whole though.

As for Musa and Riven, they are both so pig headed but just made for one another. If Riven wasn't with Musa I am sure it would be him with Aisha.

  • Conflict
Was this is the second time Aisha called Tritannus a monster? The first was more of I can't believe it, while this second was a very, this guy is not my cousin anymore. It is like she completely detached herself from him to fight. Can't blame her though.

And thumbs up with pairing Bloom, Stella, and Aisha. Though... I think I would switch out Stella for Musa to complete a "Team Hulk" deal.

  • Climax
Even if the ambush wasn't truly successful, it was a good idea and the Winx got in some decent hits.

But why the heck does he keep getting away with these crystals?! I thought they would at least recover one by now. Basically convergence is a magic bandage.

  • Misc
Nice to see Musa's dad. Seeing him just really makes Erendor look worse XD I get that he is a King, but he is far too brash. Even Radius can chill out every once in a while.

I thought the episode ended well... then the whales waved and I lost it [lol] And when Flora got kidnapped, it was hilariously. She's usually so calm about everything.

The Winx have usually managed to not let their relationship problems stop them from their hero duty. The thing is Bloom is obsessing over Sky when she knows he's busy working on important stuff. Some concern is fine, but she's breaking down over imaginary problems. The real problem is her lack of political training, which means she doesn't understand how important these meetings are.

Interesting view on Tritannus and Icy. Valtor was much older than her, and she had to compete with the others. Tritannus earnestly cares for her and her alone. She appreciates the fact that someone likes her. Unfortunately having a love life has led her to neglect her other relationships, which isn't a good thing. Personally, I hope Darcy and Stormy separate from Icy at the end, if only to see what they can do without her.

Yeah, that would be it. It is Diaspro's presence and lying that is causing her to have anxiety. Any other time she wouldn't bat an eyelash. Even with how shallow Tritannus and Icy's relationship is, you think about previous eps and notice they have been together for quite a while. Though I do want to know if she is more interested in being an Empress than being with him. While a predictable scenario would be Tritannus gaining power and then having evil amnesia and not caring if Icy fell into the abyss.

Oh yeah, I missed the new ep ( ;_;)

Episode 21. As the first Tecna episode since season 2, I quite like it.

Of course Tecna is the best one to take down an electric octopus. Electricity is one of her specialties after all. The others were kind of embarrassing though. And Flora got blasted. Again.

Time for a date. This might be the first non-group date they've had, at least in awhile. Too bad everyone had to give Tecna and Timmy contradictory advice. Their relationship is going fine, then everyone else has to almost mess it up. Muting her phone. No way that can lead to trouble.

The date itself was fine. Timmy, and to a lesser extent Tecna made a fool of themselves, but nothing big happened. They chatted and ate. They got through it while trying to follow bad advice. And Tecna was even smart enough to keep her communicator on. And unlike Bloom, Timmy understands that Tecna might have other priorities.

So Daphne tells Bloom to destroy the seal. Finally, someone is using her brain. They know where the pillar is and that they can stabilize it. No issues. At the very least it will slow Tritannus down awhile until he figures out how to extract power from the pillar.

Monster is hungry. Musa is the only one that manages to put up a fight. I thought Aisha was better than that. Tecna again continues to be competent. Take the energy from some electric jellyfish to get around the magic resistance. Too bad Flora almost caused Tecna to mess up. Tecna managed fine anyway, and was even delicate enough to not hurt it. The Infinite Ocean having air parts seems contradictory.

So the monster is fed, but Tritannus is on his way. You'd think that he would get there in time to interrupt them stabilizing the pillar. Nope. The plan goes off without any problems. Tecna even gets back in time to finish her date. Good day for the Winx.

It was an even better day for Tecna fans. She got no focus episodes in season 1, though she had some screen time. She had both a focus episode and an arc in season 2. She saved the day in a big way in season 3, but otherwise was sidelined. She was mostly just there during season 4. She's faring little better in season 5 as a whole, but getting her second ever focus episode helps a lot. Next episode we're actually going to see Zenith. The final home world of the Winx girls. There's still Riven's and Timmy's planets, but one step at a time. Hopefully Zenith won't disappoint. Hopefully Cryos won't be as annoying as Erendor has been. And most of all, hopefully the princess Tecna arguments will finally die off for good.

Smart idea. 4Kids making stuff up has certainly caused a lot of confusion as to what is and isn't canon and the names of things. Having three English dubs can get really confusing for some people. I would like some backstory for the Trix as well. What planet they're from, how they were raised, are they blood-related, etc. Riven, Timmy, and Helia also need some backstory as well.

On another note, it looks like there won't be a new episode for the next two weeks.

It looks like Nick is releasing Magical Adventure at the end of May. Apparently it's getting cut to a 45 minute run time so it can fit into an hour special. I didn't like the movie, but it does not deserve that treatment. When it does air, I guess we'll see if it can fit after season 5. Personally, I still think it happens before season 4.

I don't think it could, since they're in Believix throughout the whole thing and I don't think Sirenix is going to go anywhere. I think it's basically just an alternate story and isn't in continuity unless they change something.

That cut sounds dumb, but I guess if they make it streamlined enough it could sort of work.

Magical Adventure kind of has to happen, otherwise the Ancestral Witches are still free. Which is bad. And eventually you start to wonder what they've been doing.

May is going to be a big month for Winx. Episode 22 is finally going to air in English on the 5th. Magical Adventure premieres Monday May 20th and will be released on Itunes a week later. JAKKS Pacific will release the Musa and Tecna Harmonix dolls. Mc Donalds will be selling Believix toys in their Happy Meals.

So, what's everyone's favorite season? I like season 2 the most, because it had the best character development in the entire show. The Trix were at their best then too. Then it's season 3, with the planet hopping, Enchantix, Valtor, and general awesomeness. Unfortunately it got really Bloom-centric and resolved plots really poorly. Then there's season 1, which didn't have many outstanding moments, but it also had the fewest bad moments. It was the beginning of the show, so some parts I can let slide due to the writers getting a feel for the show. Then there's season 4, which shook up the status quo, had the awesome Wizards, and several good twists like vengeful fairies and Nabu's death. Sadly, it was bogged down by several dumb subplots, the sidelining of Flora and Tecna, Love and Pet in general, and the fact that Roxy's story was just a rehash of Bloom's. Plus Roxy wasn't the most interesting character, though she had potential. Then the finale focused on Aisha instead. Season 5 is easily the worst, for reasons I'll get to when it finishes airing in English.

And eventually you start to wonder what they've been doing.

They honestly did nothing for four seasons aside from messing with Valtor's head that one time. I think they can keep doing that.

I thought they're going to air all the remaining episodes on May 5th? I remember it because it was yet another exhibition of Nickelodeon's inability to keep schedules.

I like season 2 best as well, then 3 and 1. I think Season 5 might be better than 4, just by virtue of not having fifty dates between the Winx and the Specialists and the entire "Winx on Earth" thing really bothering me, especially when Episode 1 teased the entire "Winx as Teachers" thing.

Are they seriously releasing the Harmonix dolls two at a time? And after the Winx have already gone Sirenix too? They're behind their market competitors on that front.

Also does anybody know of any plans to release the Sirenix Box as a toy? It seems like a very toy concept.

They were trapped in Obsidian, so it's not like they could do much until they were freed. Though why they didn't send Mandragora out before hand is a good question.

The others already have Harmonix dolls released. We're lucky for the Musa and Tecna dolls to be released at all. I haven't seen any Sirenix dolls, though I haven't been paying much attention.

Season 4 may have had a lot of the Specialists, but season 5 is worse for not having them at all except for Sky. They get about five minutes of romance, appear as fight fodder, and that's about it for the season. I didn't like the Winx on Earth, but it was an interesting change of pace for the show, so props for doing something different, even if it isn't what I'd do. The Winx as teachers could've been interesting, but from what we saw they were horrible teachers. Though that would've given them a proper excuse to hang around Alfea in season 5.

Episode 22 has finally aired in English. Both the episode and the main attraction for the episode are both late. Domino was seen in season 1. Melody in Musa's flashback in season 2. Andros, Solaria, and Linphea in season 3. Yet not a peep of Zenith until season 5. And now, we finally see the planet of technology.

First off, volleyball. Oh hey, princess Krystal. Haven't seen or cared about her in awhile. The Winx lose when Flora messes up. Why does Flora suck so much this season? Krystal is getting all touchy with Helia even though she knows she shouldn't be doing that. Helia is just not doing anything. Bloom is still moping. The comparison with the seashell is actually very apt. She broke the seashell, and now due to her idiocy she's almost going to break up her relationship. Why Flora is comparing herself badly to Krystal I have no idea. I mean, I know she has low self-esteem, but still. At least Tecna gave good advice. By now she's the only one who's proven she can manage a relationship properly.

I wonder what the exact reason was for Cryos to not join the alliance. It's not like Zenith can do anything to Tritannus, unless Cryos is taking credit for everything Tecna has done. Tecna seems to understand his decision, even if he doesn't like it. I'm amused that she thinks she'll be able to change his mind, since as of now we don't know if she has any connection to him.

Finally, Zenith. I'm not sure why the temperature needs to be kept low for the robots, but okay. Place looks cool. Seeing the shop was a distraction, but it does give a small taste of how the planet operates. I like the name dropping of various other planets. Linphea is nice, seeing as how we're not seeing that planet this season. Oppositus was remembered as well. Then Pyros. Why does the Island of Dragons have a clothing line?

Tritannus reaches the pillar. And goes on a tantrum when things don't go exactly his way. I still enjoy laughing at him. Darcy and Stormy also like to laugh at him. Too bad the Selkies can't do anything. Well, might as well take it out on the Pillar.

I'd mock the robots for going crazy so easily, but it was caused by the same thing that caused eclipses and earthquakes everywhere to happen, so I'll let it slide. I would like some explanation as to why they went straight for the palace. Security for the king sucks. Yet it's still better than the security for all the other royals.

Tecna is punching stuff. Cool. She and Cryos know each other. I'd like to know how they met. What's this about how the Winx are outnumbered? There's like, 5 robots. Just shoot them and be done with it. Tecna punched them pretty easily. Nope, gotta make Flora relevant somehow, even though the plan makes absolutely no sense. It confuses the robots how? Then Musa, Stella, and Aisha destroyed them pretty easily anyway.

Selkies try to be helpful in some way. And actually succeed for once. Bravo Tritannus, you were driven away by Selkies. I'd say this was a new low, but this isn't the first time he almost lost to Selkies.

Cryos learns the error of his ways, agrees to join the alliance, all is well. He's not a complete idiot like Erendor is, so points there I guess. So time for the first wish. Let the people of Zenith feel more connected to the Magic Dimension. Interesting, but from our perspective ultimately pointless since we never saw the people be disconnected from everywhere else.

Time for the dumb Bloom/Sky drama to finally end. How did Sky get away if Diaspro wasn't letting him leave? Or did he just ignore her when he realized she can't actually do much to him. Flashback to previous stuff. All it did was remind me that Sky's current haircut is terrible. Anyway, they talk and sort out there non-existent problems. Just in time for next season's dumb drama. Maybe they should break up, if only so we don't have to see this dread again.

Tritannus screaming his lungs out about not being emperor has been the funniest thing in the entire season. This Politea stuff, now this might be interesting. Though if the curse of Sirenix is going to make one a monster, then Tritannus shouldn't have much to worry about. Can't get much worse. Darcy and Stormy see this as a chance. Icy tells them off, though she seems to regret it slightly. It's still hard to get why she cares for him over her sisters. Darcy and Stormy are just seeing if they can get any respect from anyone.

While it has some issues, mostly with Flora, this was a pretty solid episode overall. Seeing Zenith was the big thing. The Bloom/Sky stuff ending is also a plus. Darcy and Stormy finally breaking off to do their own thing was long overdue. As for next episode, I've already seen it. It seems to actually have some interesting stuff. Everything else, less so. 24 looked lame. 25 has some good stuff, but I don't like the looks of other parts. I'll get to 26 when we get there.

There's one thing I really liked about this episode though. Finally the princess Tecna arguments are finished. She's not a princess. I can't believe it took over 120 episodes to end this argument, but it's done.

Edit: Okay, so there was more than 5 robots. The Winx should've just shot them anyway.

Episode 23. What a waste. What good stuff there was was either abandoned or didn't make sense.

Oh hey, Tritannus finally noticed that he lost Darcy and Stormy. He and Icy just shrug it off. Daphne is an idiot to tell Tritannus about Politea if her power really can power the Emperor's Throne. I know she pities the moron, but still. As usual, Icy is left to do the hard stuff.

Stella is still an idiot. Bloom needs to be harder on Stella if she wants Stella to be successful. It still feels like Stella takes Brandon for granted.

More secret rooms in Alfea. Hooray. What does Sirenix have to do with time magic? Well, this is the series' first foray into time magic, so this could be interesting. Or just confusing. So Daphne and Politea were companions fighting the Ancestral Witches. Then Politea stopped helping Daphne because she's either a dick or lazy. Didn't earn her any brownie points with the Ancestral Witches. Where did this take place? Daphne supposedly died on Domino, but this hints that she was cursed on Magix or in the Infinite Ocean. No clarification or attempt to make it work with established canon.

Bloom is an idiot. She really should bring the others. They can handle themselves perfectly fine, and there's no indication this is any more dangerous than anything else. Convenient how Serena is alone when Bloom enters the Infinite Ocean. Apparently Politea is famous there. Pity we never heard of her until last episode. Bloom versus Icy. That's not going to last long.

Oh hey, Darcy and Stormy are already here ruining Politea's day. I like how Politea is hyped up to be some big scary monster, and then she's immediately killed by those two. Actually I don't like it, but at least Darcy and Stormy got something out of it. An interesting plot that was never followed up. Bloom gets beaten because she has no backup. Way to go. Pity no one bothers to finish her off. Icy still prioritizes the mermaid over them. Nice to see Darcy and Stormy be fed up with that. Hopefully there's some good follow-up on their power-up.

So Stella's goal isn't necessarily to reunite her parents, just to get them to listen to each other and not fight the instant they see each other. Not too bad I suppose. The fashion show itself was alright. Stella's wish is okay, not a waste like Tecna's was. Roxy ended up being entertaining background fodder, though I'm surprised Artu is there. Stella/Brandon drama is done for the season. Thank goodness for that, since all it did was make Stella look bad.

Then Riven suddenly hijacks the whole thing for his own purposed. Not cool dude. As expected, the mystery fairy was just giving him music lessons. Musa/Riven drama finished. It was stupid, but at least it didn't drag on. Roy is hanging out with the other Specialists now. Even more blatant evidence Aisha is going to end up with him. Song was alright.

Disappointment is all I have to say. The Politea stuff was introduced out of nowhere and swept aside just as quickly. She was called evil, but all she did was smirk, then get cursed. The Ancestral Witches cameo was nice at least. The fashion subplot and two romance subplots ended. Radius and Luna will presumably fight less from now on. Next episode looks like another cheesy environmental episode. There is some stuff that looks good at first, but it has some problems. Also, we've got 3 episodes and 4 wishes left. Just something to note.

On another note, Magical Adventure is finally coming to America next Monday. I'm sure somebody is happy. Continuity problems aren't going to be fixed, but they're unfixable without editing Believix to Enchantix.

Edit: I forgot about the Tracix wings on Believix. So this isn't the first foray into time magic.

Hmm Bloom witnessed two murders... she does a good job of hiding her shock.

Magical Adventure has aired on Nick. And predictably, it was junk, even more so than the original movie. Why did they even advertise it as a movie if they literally cut out half of it? Practically all the fight scenes except the last one are gone. No Alfea in the beginning. No Bloom meeting Peg. No relaxation on Earth. No physical training with the girls. No punching out shadow clones. I'm almost surprised Erendor's backstory made it mostly intact.

Then there's changing Sky's proposal to an invitation to this princess ball. And nothing else is changed. Everyone gets so worked up about some ball that we're never going to see. Why should we care about this date more than all the others that we saw before? Then Oritel's reaction seems even more ridiculous. Banishing Sky because he proposed, then canceled the marriage out of nowhere? Dickish, but understandable. Banishing him because he cancelled the ball invitation out of nowhere? Seems like a tad of an overreaction. Why is Nick so afraid of marriage again? They changed Nabu's proposal to Aisha in season 4.

Naturally they couldn't fix my biggest problem with the movie. The Winx beside Bloom are just there to look pretty, support Bloom, and fight. They're just there. At least the first movie gave them a couple scenes and advanced their story as well with their graduation. Now with Nick, they lose even more. So much for their opening scene of fighting the Trix without Bloom. That was actually a good fight, even if it was somewhat lopsided in the Winx's favor. The Specialists aside from Sky have the same problem, but I'm less irritated since there's only so many characters you can give attention to in a movie.

The second problem is the continuity issues. Not Nabu, he's as he should be. Believix is the issue. The movie fits perfectly before season 4 except for Believix. I know there was marketing to be done for Believix, but they should've changed the story to accommodate that then. There were rumors that Nick was going to try and fit it into continuity. Nope. Despite most of it being cut out, Believix is still there. I'm sure it isn't worth the effort to edit it to Enchantix or Sirenix. I still pretend the movie takes place before season 4.

So yeah, Nick botched this movie pretty badly. When I first heard Nick got Winx, I was somewhat hopeful. Now I'm not hopeful for Winx's future. A lot of the issues were just annoying, like Nabu's proposal, or everything with the transformations, but Nick messed this up. Too bad, I actually liked their dub for the first movie.

Never saw the movie in any language, even Nick dubbed because I forgot it was airing. So I am assuming Nick cut it for time and that's a shame. Though it probably won't effect viewers (such as myself) who never saw it. So I hope the DVD release restores all the cuts.

The movie's placement in the series continuity isn't Nick's fault nor is their burden to fix. That falls on the creators of Winx Club who did the movie before the 4th season was announced or its content revealed.

As agitating as people find it Bloom is the protagonist. Same as Usagi is in the Sailor Moon series. You can have supporting characters that have complex history, but they'll never have the type of attention as the protagonist. Bloom was a found fairy while the others already had their power and were aware of magic. The only exception is Roxy who is found fairy but still a student.
