Alot of the article seems focused on putting a negative look on the particular genre.

At the moment rather dead in Britain, possibly through overuse or possibly because the general public realized that most of these shows are inherently dull.

In fact other than outright Reality Shows, and perhaps largely for the same reasons, Docu Soaps are perhaps the most popular form of show on American cable television for network execs and a major contributor to Network Decay.

In fact, it could be argued that the success of American Docu Soaps, especially relative to their British counterparts, is a much greater emphasis on these relationships and interpersonal drama almost always pushing the line of absurdity if not completely crossing over and coming 'round again.

Wondering if someone who knows the genre better can take a stab at re-writing it in a more neutral tone.

Restructured, got rid of some excess verbiage and neutralized the tone.

Sweet. I'm going to start saying that certain articles need to be 'blackcatted' when they need that treatment.

Nobody will have any idea what I'm going on about, but I'll get a giggle out of doing it.
