Looks like Hong Kong SAR is starting to cancel visa-free privileges for local officials and diplomats after 2/5.
For reference, this was how the Filipino police handled that crisis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRt1aNsNM0c
No details if a local passport holder like me will receive the short end of the stick.
More local retaliation by removing visa-free rights for Hong Kong SAR officials with calls to further develop the local tourists scenes for locals.
Got new extradition treaties signed up and a few more pending.
At long last.
The government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front has signed a peace treaty to affirm the end the war.

Erap's trip brings an end to sanctions at last...
Necroing two months after the fact, but does anyone think the Philippines is getting better? Or it just the haves getting more and the have-nots being left in the dust?
Also, is there hope for a change in the view point of the Filipinos as a whole? Can they discard all the mentalities that have kept them in destitution so far, or are they unable to?
I dunno, I just read some stuff on getrealphilippines and I've had to confront doubts that I haven't thought of in a long time.
"Stealing is a crime and drugs is a crime too BUT if you steal drugs the two crimes cancel out and it’s like basically doing a good."That would depend. For starters, three Senstors are being arrested.
It could be a start if and when they're in jail already. Many people are waiting for their sentences to be done with.
Also got reports from Bukidnon that New People's Army killed Mayor Okinlay for resisting pleas from the common people to resolve their issues and that they deliver needed justice.

Imelda got invited to Ateneo for a VIP speech. I wished they just lock her up and misplace the key.
As usual, people are divided. But mostly because President Marcos could have made the country like Singapore if he didn't go to the dark side. And this comment comes from young students in high school/uni.
Philippine Army ordered the withdrawal of its soldiers from Golan Heights and Liberia after their tour is over.

Relevant to the current Bangsamoro thing.
Cross-posting from the South East Asia thread:
The OIC has allegedly rejected the Bangsamoro peace pact.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiothttp://www.philstar.com/sunday-life/2015/06/07/1462943/memoir-war-then-and-china-now
I am very upset that Mr. Jose would lump anyone with Chinese ethnic background as potential "fifth column". I for one am very opposed to what the PLA is doing in the Spratlys. I'm also very fortunate to be born in a country that values free speech. Otherwise, I would be arrested by the Ministry of State Security for criticizing the CCP.
The editorial just reminds me of how the Americans and Canadians imprison their own nationals of German, Italian and Japanese ancestry in the Second World War just because the three countries were enemies of the Allied countries at the time.
Any increase in ethnic violence due to the island issue? That would be something China is looking for.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleHave my doubts on that. Although it could happen... maybe.
Binay's trust rating is still up, according to Pulse Asia, despite the corruption issue.
Erap has something to say about the China issue.

"Philistine Politics".
I wonder what would go on in that thread...
That would have been in the History Thread then...
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.SpencerOfProvisions, huh, get ready for the Steve Harvey jokes.
That guy screwed up bigtime at the Miss Universe awarding ceremony—first he misreads Colombia as the winner (poor soul, though), and then he misspells both countries' names in a post-ceremony tweet.
Poor guy must be a nervous wreck, haha.
I want to go to there.https://sg.news.yahoo.com/rights-victims-anger-dims-philippine-democracy-celebrations-034029701.html
100th post and this is really happening. My head's gonna hurt.
if you hit the X on the address bar at the right moment, you can bypass it too. It's a crapshoot if you get it though.
