Kara No Kyoukai

Talk about Kara No Kyoukai here.

Yeah, there's the page for Nasuverse in general, but people in that thread don't tend to talk about KNK much.

So...how many of you have watched it, or at least heard about the series? I doubt that there are many people who actually read the book, seeing how there's no official translations in America and European countries (as far as I know.).

Unfortunately, the LN translations have been put on a really, really long hiatus. The novels were apparently licensed a long time ago and they ordered cease-and-desist to Baka-Tsuki. But no release yet, apparently.

Well, how's the accessibility of the movies?

I think I heard something about a BD release with both Japanese AND English subs...

It's beautifully animated, has the best OST of any anime ever (courtesy of Yuki Kajiura) and is at times almost incomprehensible (thanks, Nasu). What more is there to say?

Have any of you watched the Future Gospel OVA?

I actually read the whole novel (ah, the nationality previlege, not Japanese, though) before and I got to tell you, I found it to be a GREAT stylish choice. There's no denying that it can be incomprehensible to the most. Ah, yes, the animation, goddamn it, the animation! All that marvelously animated bloodsplatters and dear god, the Evil Eye (see the page image), everything is just so beautifully animated! I'm writing a sort of Light Novel and if it ever got a fortune of being animated with the best team I can choose, I will have it KNK treatment, of course including Yuki Kajiura. ^_^

You're lucky then, Fate Zero will be animated by ufotable, with Yuki Kajiura doing the music and Ei Aoki (I think he also directed KNK, but I'm not too sure) doing the directing. It's gonna air this fall.

I did a liveblog on all but the 7th movie, but it was lost to The Great Purge.

I liked Madoka's OST more, but the Kn K E Ds are GLORIOUS. Seventh Heaven (the album) is GLORIOUS. GLORIOUS I SAY.

I liked Sis puella magica and Credens justitiam. :P Although I still loved Kn K's soundtrack. Especially Shiki's Theme Music Powerup.

It's not lost, it's right here. Given how few separate posts it's divided into, it would be pretty trivial to copy-paste it over into the new liveblog system and add the final movie. Assuming that you've watched the final movie.

Incidentally, I'm not sure what Purge you're talking about. The liveblog forum was simply locked when the new liveblog system came out. Nothing in it was deleted, as far as I know.

To be honest, my own opinion is that Kajiura's KNK score has yet to be topped.

Shiki's leitmotif (and variations thereof, including Sprinter) and A Song Of Storm And Fire are what I consider her most emblematic compositions.

Seventh Heaven is just heavenly. I finished watching Madoka Magica, although I should watch it again because I watched it half-asleep, and KNK has better soundtracks in my opinion.

KNK beats any of PMMM's themes everyday! Even the Mami's theme, which is beaten by Shiki's own theme.

Ahem, blatantly biased bullshit asides, anyone suppose how much it cost to make all the movies? It has the best animation I ever seen and considering that now Fate Zero is coming to TV, it makes me wonder how much would THAT cost. How many episodes it would be, I wonder.
